I'm about to buy one of the ebay boxes, for 2 12s, and was wondering where everyone was mounting their amps? I was hoping I could mount it in the center of the box on top, but can't tell how much room there is. My next choice would be under the drivers seat, but just seeing where everyone else did theirs.

Honestly speaking i would look into a box for 10s instead as there is just not enough airspace for dual 12s under that back seat. even with 10s youre starving the subs some what most 10s seem to require between .5 up to over 1 cubic foot of space. I made an enclosure myself for an 8.

I have the same box... but plan on doing a little adjustment to it. I plan on running two Solo-Baric 8"L7 therefore i have to re-do the circles on top- but my question is did you all replace the factory headunit? ...also was it a problem running and hiding the wires?!

2006 DodgeRam BigHorn Edition
Helo Maxx6 20" chrome wheels
i did this, also, i installed 2 12 inch L7's in my sungle cab .. i built the boxes myself and they looked awesome if i do sat so myself haha, but i installed a new pioneer head unit and then the wires was no problem at all, the panels pop off very easily just try nott o break the fastners .. hardest part was getting te amp wire through the firewall .. godd luck fellas

What if you were to create a box that took up the entire space under the rear seat, but only made it for a single 10. My son is looking into getting a 10w6v2 and only wants one. Do they make a box that is the size of a dual speaker box, but just for one?

not having the correct volume of space in your enclosure can destroy your subs! if you plan on pushing your subs and want your subs to last you may consider getting something with a smaller magnet. i build my own enclosures because of this so that i can customize the volume. My truck is a single cab though, so i had a little more room to work with putting them behind the seats instead of under. you mentioned stage 2 woofers. the box your considering probably will not have sufficient volume. you have to compensate for larger magnet sizes as they take up additional volume. my woofers have 10 lb magnets. they take up alot more room than a standard magnet.

p.s. for better sounding bass pack your box with polly fill. you can get it at walmart in the craft section for about a buck. youll have to play around with the amount of it that you place in each sub chamber to get the desired sound quality. it varies by sub and amp combinations.

i built a box for 12's and they fit pretty nice behind my seats. had to remove the plastic tool rest area as well as the plastic peaces on the rear wall. sounds ridiculous.

I found a box that looks pretty good and has a great mouting depth, as well as large air space. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2002-...QQcmdZViewItem

well the 12s I've got are made specifically for small boxes, the volume of the box is very, very close to what I'd want anyways. I figured with a little polyfill they'd work great
