Default Question about Brush Guards?

Fella's I'm looking to purchase a Brush Guard for my 2002 Dodge Ram 1500 QC.. I did some checking around, and the prices i saw ($400-700) price range i think is ridiculous. Any ideas on a reasonably priced Brush Guard?
And why are they so expensive?

Well it depends on what brand you are looking at. If you are looking at ranchhand then that is normal. 800 does seem a bit high for a brush guard, but what do i know. I am looking at a bumper replacement, does thatput any heavy strain on the front.

That just doesnt have the support as the higher dollar ones. Sure if you want if for looks then go ahead, but if you want it to protect your truck then you may want to look in to something a bit beefeier. That is why I am getting a bumper replacement or a heavy duty brush guard for the front. I ordered both just have to look and see which one will look the best. Pics to come.

Does the Westin or any of the other major brands offer more support?? I'm still in the market myself, but I just don't like the look of the heavy duty replacements.

I got mine from an outfit in San Antonio, Texas Tuff. They made my headache rack as well as my nerf bars and I am very pleased with the quality. I do not have it yet, but they are making it and I should have it soon. They use thicker pipe and just the quality is better in my opinion, and much cheaper. I cant remember the specs but I chose it because it was a tougher stonger build in my opinion. I was looking into a bumper replacement, but that is a lot of weight to put on the front end of a already heavy diesel. I oredered both and they said which ever you pick they will sell the other. I wont do the install, but I will watch if I can and get back to you. BTW heavy duty was just a term, not a name. I believe there is a website, just have to find them.

Edit: I found the website, it was on my headache rack, lol. It is www.unlimited-texastuff.com
