1500 Mega Cab question
Take a better look at the picture....8 lugs 17 inch rims, it may have a 1500 tag, but the mega cab is bulit on the 2500 Frame... The best way of knowing for sure is the bolt pattern of a 1500 mega cab should match a 1500 Ram, if not, than it's a built as a 2500 with a 1500 tag...
Not that this is really all that important....

I dont think lugs would determine the series of the truck. Ive seen a 1500 with 10 lugs. But its still a 1500 series regaurdless of what parts its built from. Obviously it was badged as a 1500 from the factory for a reason.
Reguardless of what its built on, its badged as a 1500. The question was "do they make a 1500 series mega cab?" The answer is yes, Mega cabs are build in 1500 series. It will be insured as a 1500, titled as a 1500 and registered as a 1500. My 69 Camaro has a Mustang II front suspension and a Ford 9" rear. Does that make it a mustang because it has a mustang suspension? I think not. Also if you go to the dealership and look at the suspension on a 2500 mega cab and on a 1500 mega cab. You will see that they are not the same. 1500 mega cab has a different front suspension than a 2500. The 1500 mega cab sits lower than the 2500. Ive already looked. Ive seen them side by side at the dealership. Ive already looked. Frame rails may be the same.
Vinny, Actually nobody questioned if there are mega 1500 models. Someone said that they are "platformed" on a 2500 chasis in which they are. I think you misunderstood one of the posts.
Yes, there is a 1500 megacab - all megas are build on the same QCLB frame the heavy duties use. I'd wager a guess that the only difference between a 1500 mega and a 2500 mega (assuming they're both hemis) is heavier leaf springs on the 2500. Also, the megas do not come with mds (not even the 1500) in the hemi, dodge uses the same hemi that goes into the 2500 which has no cylinder deactivation. The truck is just way too damn heavy to make any use of the MDS.
