Tammucmike, I suppose I have no life because I called BS on your fake race, whatever. The only way you won is if he wasn't trying or was unaware. Also, have you ever heard of tuning? Well you can make a motor faster or slower if it is tuned differently. Therefore rendering the EXACT same motor with 40 less horse power in the HD F-150.

Ford has 380hp, SRT/10 has 500hp.

Hey, we are all allowed our opinion, and MINE is that the Lightning was a slow turd. They could have achieved the SAME horsepower using an NA motor but instead, they used a crappy motor (sohc not dohc) and threw a blower on it to make it competitive. thats the poor mans way out. A REAL motor can make excellent power with NO power adder. Like the HEMI does, or the V10 does, or the LS series motors in gm products. Face it, ford engines SUCK! (ok, I admit, the 5.0 was the best thing they ever made for a street car)

 

as far as mods though...the lightning takes the cake...my friendspent lil over thousand and pushes 480 at the rear wheels. its simply amazing and have been to many dynomeets with it. different make, different truck= different KIND OF power

 

A big +1 on what dean said. I think the SRT10 is an all around nicer and cooler truck but I still think the Lightning is an amazing machine. Also mid 13's with 380hp is pretty damn impressive. I also think it's pretty crazy that a Lightning is only a hair slower than the SRT10 with 120 less hp. That's with a driver who can put the 500hp to the ground with the 6 speed as well. I am used to defending the SRT10 on the svt site I post on but I will use their argument, Which one has the fastest all around truck? Ford Lightning or SRT10? That's what I thought, the little 5.4 has a faster 1/4 time than the viper motor in a truck. I do think it would be better if they had a 380 hp motor then slapped a blower on it but that's not the case and it's still a sick *** truck IMO

what year is the fastest hemi?? just curious? imo i think its the 03's but somone back me up on this?

 

I have heard it is the 03 as well. 04-05 have the best aftermarket though.
