this leveling kit i keep hearing/reading about
now the leveling kit i keep hearing about, lifts the front 2" but nothing to the rear? 1) i know your front end being lower helps driving wise, 2) when i load my truck with stuff in the bed (i do construction), the entire rear will drop, thus leaving the front stuck way up in the air?
so is this leveling kit for non-work trucks?

Are you talking about the top gun? Is your truck a 1500 or HD? Either way your truck is going to sag if you don't change the block or add aload springor airbags in the rear. I would opt for the air bag if you want a softer ride. That's what my brother uses on his lifted Chevy 3/4ton and it rides pretty nice. The load spring or block would be the cheaper way to go. It also depends on how much your hauling. My brother uses the air bags becuase his work trailers way around 14000lbs.

i'll never carry 14000 lbs. but will fill the back with shingles, block, etc. and occasionally tow a trailer

Most people will install the leveling kit for appearance or to be able to run larger tires. No matter if its 2wd or 4wd. The stuff you are hauling still adds weight. Most of which is payload and not tow. This is going to make the rear sag just as much as a heavy trailer. Shingle aren't light. That's why the stock truck comes raked or slanted to the front. It can still sag if the springs are overloaded. The only way to combat this is to put some type of load leveling kit in the rear. Air bags, overload spring, level load springs( OK if not offroad a lot), etc...The block would maintain a factory ride and raise the rear, but, would do nothing to increase the load capacity of your truck.

how much does this leveling kit cost to buy and get installed. the tire place that just sold my dad new tires tried to get him to put a leveling kit on and when they were done they parked it next to the owners f150 4x4 qc with 20s and 33s. its identical to my dads truck except for it being a ford and the front end was levelled on it and it made a big difference in the appearance. it made it look alot tougher, but when my dad asked they quoted him 376 dollars for the kit and the install. i thought this was a little high. my dad doesnt know jack about mechanics, and ive never done a levelling kit before but im confident that me and a friend or two could knock it out in a day. so has anybody done one on their own before and how difficult was it?how much did you pay for it?
