Default Best place to mount air bag air compressor

I'm trying to figure out where to mount the on board air compressor for the air bags. I dont want it in the cab because I think it would be too loud. But, it is bad to put it outside? Under the bed would expose it to salt and mud and road grime. Would it be better placed in the bed and get a metal fab shop to fab a cover for it? I'm not really creative so for this I am at a loss....

i have mounted them to the frame under the cab for airhorns with the compressor right next to it...most are powdercoated so they will stand up but the compressor you shouldnt submerge but small splashes should be ok....or what about behind your front bumper theres alot of room right there....thats where i want my horns.....

Yup.. I put my compressor right behind my front bumper, and my horns on the frame right under my engine. It's a great place to wrench on it, and is protected from the elements.

I have my compressor also mounted in the front right behind the bumper.
All the shops told me that was a stupid idea becuase if I get in a wreck it will be first to go, thats why I got a grill guard

Well that's not a very good picture because that's just the tank.. but it's a ViAir 3 gallon 150 psi kit. The actual compressor is mounted on the frame on the right of the tank.

This is where I have mine. Its behind the front bumper with a piece of SS I cut at work.

The VIAIR 380c compressor is on top and the 3gal tank is on bottom.
