Does anybody have 1/4 mile times on new rams
i would like to know some 1/4 mile times on the new 5.7 HEMI single cab and quad cab i'm thinking about buying one and would like to know if it can outrun my brothers tundra its a single cab 5.7 stock and can run a 14.00 i seen it with my own eyes so any help would be nice thanks
I agree, buy American! Two words Pearl Harbor. . . you also won't be disapointed. I dusted a mustang gt the other day. The guy was shocked and came up with all kinds of excuses. I have a quad cab slt with of course the hemi. Some magazines report the crew cab laramie at o-60 in 6.1 sec and the regular cab at 5.7. I don't care who you are, that's fast! A guy at work has the tundra crew max and after riding in the my truck, he won;t line up. . . he challanged me when I was talking about buying the truck! I love this thing!
Racing from a street light and racing at a track are completely different. I have yet to run any new rams yet, but according to the few mags ive read, the only really rams that can compete in the 1/4 mile with the new tundras are the 5.7 RCSBs. Most quads are in the mid to low 15s while the double cab tundras are mid 14's stock. The tundra RCSB 5.7's are still a tenth or two quicker than the RCSB 5.7 R/Ts. That is until your after market kicks in, then im sure you'll have no problems keeping up with tundra's or stock lightnings for that matter.
what year mustang GT did you beat? I seriously doubt it was a 05+.

ehhh you should see a rc r/t outrun the Tundra easily in a 0-60 race.
1/4 mile times will be extremely close...both the tundra rc and ram rc will run mid to low 14's, Im gonna give the edge to the r/t when there finally are enough in the real world to break in and find correct launching patterns.

RCSB 5.7 tundras do 0-60 in 5.5 seconds. Some guys have ran 13.9's completely stock with a good DA. Im not trying to sound trollish but im just tryin to help this guy out. He will lose if he races a RCSB 5.7 tundra in a quad cab hemi. Like wise, a RC R/T would most likely dust a double cab tundra. I think the numbers are close enough though that a RC vs RC would be a drivers race.
I'm the guy that ran a 14.0 in a stock '09. Well, I let the rear tires down to 35 psi. Other than that, it was as it came from the dealer. Since that trip to the track I have gotten video footage of me running a 14.13. It's stuck on a mini dv tape in my video camera, and I have to figure out how the hell to get it onto the computer so I can post it. It's not as simple as transferring still photos. I think I have to go buy a cable, but whether I buy a audio/video cable or a digital video cable depends on which type of input my video card can accept. Obviously, I'd prefer a digital transfer. I have not had a chance to really tackle this yet-I work fairly long hours at a pull-a-part junkyard.
By the way, I'd have to say that anyone who can only get a 15.2 out of a quad or crew cab '09 dodge is either driving one with 3.55's or 3.21's or doesn't know what they're doing. Don't put much stock in what the "experts" at magazines can do. After all, they're the geniuses that only managed a 14.4 out of an r/t.
Likewise socal, I bet the magazines didn't say some guys with stock tundras would be getting 14.0's or even quicker out of tundras. Magazine racing will often lead you astray. I don't mean this to be ugly, I'm just pointing out that relying on and quoting magazine figures is almost (not quite) useless.
