if you want more the is it time to get intimate with the truck and start customizing it.....LOL

Im pretty much anti-cup holder. For me it means the chance for someone or my kids to make a mess.

I think the new F150 is ugly myself. It's too big for a 1/2 ton truck and just looks like a square block with Tundra style wrap around tail lights and the center dash area is way too busy with too many *****/buttons and a crappy Microsoft Sync system that requires special classes at the dealer to try to learn to operate and is always needing a dealer update. No thanks.
I'm not a Ford hater, I own two of them, I just think that they really screwed up the design in my eyes. The 97-03 was a beautiful truck. The 04-08 was ok, but too tall (can't put anything in the bed without a ladder) and the 09- up is oversized and ugly. And don't get me started on the crappy electric power steering that is easily damaged, even when replacing tie-rod ends!!
Just my personal opinions.

It has all the cupholders I need. I think the ones it does have though are lame. I have a QC btw, but I don't like the cupholders because they aren't adjustable. I don't have the console shifter, mines on the steering column so in the empty space between the seat and the dash I have a wal mart console with adjustable cup holders. Comes in handy for big fountain drinks, gatorades, etc...

No, they really arn't. If cupholders are one of your biggest concerns in a truck - then chances are you don't need the truck and could be driving a honda.
Not everyone who buys a truck buys it to tow/haul things around. Some just like to drive trucks, some use them for work, some a combination of both. It's all preference. To counter your argument I would say if the biggest concern about your truck is the cupholders then it must speak well to the rest of the truck. I'm of the same opinion that the cupholders are too small. The ones in my 2006 Dakota were at least adjustable so you could put whatever you wanted in them. The biggest drink my cupholders can take is probably the 44oz cups from Quik Trip. I'm a big gatorade drinker though, so the cupholders are kinda lame.

On another note. As far as the F150 goes I hate the design. The body styling is fugly, and the interior looks tacky in my opinion. The 5.4 is a dated powertrain that should be on it's way out. I have a coworker who drives a 2011 with the 5.4. He seems to like it. He told me he also test drove the Ecoboost because he wanted to see what all the hype was about. He was not impressed stating that he didn't feel like he was driving a pickup. The Fords are also massively over priced. Ford brags about the resale value, but the resale value just makes it less affordable. I was looking at used 2009 F150s for a friend who just had to have one and found most of them to be in the high 20's to low 30's as far as pricing goes. You can get a 2011 Ram QC for under 30k brand new. Resale value isn't worth anything when you paid more money for the truck in the first place.

I'll tell you a quick story about when I was buying my 2011 Dodge Ram SLT 4x4 Crew Cab.
I walked into a Ford dealership, and explained to the salesman what Dodge I was looking at. I told him, he's his chance to change my mind from sticking with Dodge. I told him the model of Dodge I was going to buy, and said show me a Ford that will complare to the SLT.
This was his response. I can put you in a truck $10,000 cheaper, but none of our trucks at this point can compare to the Dodges. I never did end up having a look at a Ford that day.

Styling is 100% opinion and you will find most here will prefer the Dodge, no different than most of the Ford owners will like the Ford design. It is the design of the truck that lures in most sales, not so much what is under the covers.

Look at it this way.... You see two women acorss the room, one hot, and one, well lets say not. You have no idea what kind of person she is, but which one are you going to talk to first? It is all about what something looks like as to which one you pick.

I'm perplexed how complaining about the cupholders on my truck automatically translates to me needing to be in a Honda...thats plain ignorant; sorry. I love my Ram and use it for both daily driving/towing weekly.

I think dodge definitely shrunk their cabs though. My '05 qc ram 1500 had exceedingly more space than the 4th gen qc. The 4th gen crew cab offers a great backseat but has a smaller front seat than the 3rd gen qc front seat; thats not picking on dodges, but it is true.

still not sure why the need for so many cup holders... i mean even if you have your truck filled with 4 people, what do you need a cup holder for each persons current drink of choice and back up? so 8? my truck covers that, but at most 2 will be in use total, maybe 3 or 4 when ive got 4 people in it

plus i definitely agree with the guy on if cupholders is your concern, you should probably be in a honda. it is a truck. the truck was created for a reason. because the working man needed to be able to haul with his vehicle (the creation of the bed!) then he needed to be able to tow with this vehicle (the tow hitch mounted to the frame!). then came the need for both of these to be able to handle more (beefier frame, beefier suspension, better brakes, fluid coolers, higher gears, trailer brakes, etc etc etc). All centered around those 2 things.

it wasnt created because the average joe wanted to make up for his smaller than avg ______ so they made a big truck, but then he wasnt cozy inside so they threw in wood grain, leather, heated seats, and TONS OF CUP HOLDERS!

yes, yes, there is the weekend warrior who NEEDS a truck. the hunter, the.... not quite sure the rest, as they make SUVS with hitches, racks for skis, kayaks, bikes
but i guess I will give it to the large boat owner

if thats your main concern, i'd get a luxury car. i hear alot of the yuppie brands even have chillers and heaters for the cup holder

but otherwise if you NEED a truck, i think they got us covered:

but as weed pointed out earlier, you can get some cup holders online that will fit God knows where

Again buying a vehicle is all about preference. I can see the need for more cupholders for people who use their truck to haul a$$ as well as lumber. Just because trucks were built plane jane to start off with doesn't mean they can't evolve and get better with the times. Perhaps you should live by your opinion and get out of that fancy new 2500 in your avatar and into something older without all the fancy doohickies like power windows, heated mirrors, HID lights, and/or expensive wheels and tires.

On another note, I think it is logical to assume that people who buy Crew Cabs buy them because they intend to haul people in them so I guess one could logically also make the assumption that more cupholders for more people would be appropriate. I don't understand why people on here feel the need to make underhanded and rude remarks towards 2011Hemisport for simply wanting more cupholders. I would say if you don't have something more constructive to say then take your opinion and shove it where the sun doesn't shine.

I use my truck to haul things when I move, I use it to pick up groceries, I use it as a daily driver, and I use it on vacation to haul my own stuff and some of my extended family's things. Point is it does exactly what i need it to do, and what I want it to do. I guess I am a big fan of doing what you want with the money you earn, and if I want to drive a big truck just to drive one then I'll do so, and 2011Hemisport should be able to do the same without all of the naysaying horse crap from people who seem to have nothing better to do than sit here on the forums finding things to troll. He even said he uses his truck to tow, so the comments about getting a honda because he simply suggested the truck should have more cupholders shouldn't have even been made in the first place. Nothing but ignorance.
