Of course you realize that Texas women do not get PMS. Down here they get something called "FTS" (Fixin' to start).

Maybe I should buy up a sh**load of 2" hose clamps and re-label 'em as "Tailgate Theft Preventers", put 'em in a pretty Red, White & Blue blister pack and market them for $19.95 apiece.

I have a T304 Stainless clamp on mine.I have it angled so that you need a swivel socket in order to take it off. That takes time and deters would be theives who are looking for a quick ******-n-grab.

Yup. Mine is angled so that the only way you can remove it is close the tailgate & crawl under with a long screwdriver or ¼" socket with a 10" extension. Ergo it certainly can be removed, but there'll be no grab & run. If you want it, you're going to have to want it some kinda bad.

Positively amazing the crap folks will buy at a county fair or at the upcoming Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo. I have a friend who has an electroplating "bidness" - Think how many we could sell if they were chrome!! Just need a couple "good old boys" (Bubba types) to run the sales counter. Maybe sell 'em at truck stops...

....."Interstate 10 we's truckin' along, just me an' old Sloan (old Sloan's my dog) had an 18-wheeler with a 10 on the floor & a stereo, layin' a strip. Then we spied a sign said EAT GAS NOW and decided to whip in and pick up some chow at the Old Home Filler-up and keep on a-truckin' Cafe."

Fortunately we're both older than dirt now, (we are great-grandparents) so neither of us shop like we once did. However, I can attest that the "blue pills" work -as advertised- even at the ripe old age of 66. -)

More'n likely you'd never unlock it once installed and then if you ever needed to, what are the chances you'd remember where you put the dang key?

I stand by my original simple design: A 49¢ *(price correction) worm-drive 2" hose clamp installed with the screw head facing forward (requiring you to close the tailgate & finish tightening it from underneath). No one will steal your tailgate and you don't have to turn the house upside-down looking for the key or worry about the lock siezing up from rust or your factory lock freezing in cold weather.

*(they're actually 2 for 97¢ at Wally World)

You're never too old to learn something stupid.
