Tailgate Anti-Theft suggestion
Yep, seen it. They have the exact same gizmo in stock at my local truck goodie store, (Kool Karz) which my wife says I absolutely must stay out of without her along as a chaperone. (sort of like me "escorting" her to the shoe store)
Fortunately we're both older than dirt now, (we are great-grandparents) so neither of us shop like we once did. However, I can attest that the "blue pills" work -as advertised- even at the ripe old age of 66. -)

Apologies to all for the second follow-up. Rude, crude & ignorant I know. However, the thought just occurred to me about this tailgate "lock" gizmo, as to why you would necessarily want a "lock"? I mean, when the hell would you ever need to un-lock it except for the one and only time you had your bedliner sprayed-in.
More'n likely you'd never unlock it once installed and then if you ever needed to, what are the chances you'd remember where you put the dang key?
I stand by my original simple design: A 49¢ *(price correction) worm-drive 2" hose clamp installed with the screw head facing forward (requiring you to close the tailgate & finish tightening it from underneath). No one will steal your tailgate and you don't have to turn the house upside-down looking for the key or worry about the lock siezing up from rust or your factory lock freezing in cold weather.
*(they're actually 2 for 97¢ at Wally World)
You're never too old to learn something stupid.

Back to the topic - some of you have had the electric tailgate lock seize up? Mine is going on 3 years with no issues, truck lives outside in MN. Definitley worth the $100 or so it cost and the couple hours to install.
