Well the stock clutch fan is a constant draw on the motor. It engages by heat.

The stock ac fan is electric and comes on with the ac. The electric fan I put on is doing both jobs. More throttle response and better mpg. It's a performance and mpg mod

Yeah I get the clutch fan being a constant draw, I've seen drastic improvements in mileage when I put e fans on my F150 but those didn't have the a/c fan like the Dodge does.

The a/c must have a thermostat trigger as well though otherwise changing the trip points with a tuner wouldn't make any difference. If you didn't have to do any wiring and it was all plug and play then the stock a/c fan must kick in at a certian temp as well which is why I was wondering if it would be necessary to remove both fans and replace it with a different fan.

I read some other posts on another forum where guys were removing the clutch fan and leaving the stock a/c fan to do both jobs.

Why wouldn't dodge put an efan with the hemi in the first place, just like your setup. Also where did you get something like that.

I'd you want one email JJ

Jeremy@retroshop.us. Ask for hemi e fan. It's a TYC OEM style aftermarket unit. Functions just like OEM.

Read this thread. All about this and on 1st page has OEM mopar part number.

And read this thread on it.

Plus the ac fan is only to cool the compressor. Not the entire engine. The electric unit I installed does both jobs.

Thanks Cmerritt84, after reading that post it seems like the factory plug has a lead for a temperature control but the factor a/c fan is only switched on with the a/c whereas this other fan will kick on based on a/c as well as temperature.

FYI for anyone asking Jeremy I just emailed him and he doesn't have that deal available on these fans anymore, amazon still has them though if you look up item number 622320.

Default Compatibility??

When I looked up that part number, says it won't fit my 11 5.7, is that because it's for a v-6??, I'd like to be sure it bolts b4 I order one for plug an play, I have a superchip 3845, wonder if I have flexibility to change trigger point, or do I need to bother with that...stock thermostat
