Default Aftermarket seats or a way to make them comfortable?

These ram seats are by far the worst seats in any car I ever owned. I'd rather drive 14 hours in my camaro than 4 hours in this truck.

I think the true culprit for the lack of comfort is the dagone head rest- its at like a 90 degree angle to the rest of the seat, so no matter where I position it, it forces my neck forward, forcing my back into a very un-natural position which gets painful after driving for a while. I thought about pulling the head rests off as I bet that would help a lot, but then it would be very dangerous in an accident. I've read some reviews that say these seats are great, but maybe its just because I'm 6'9" and can't avoid the 5" the top of the headrest sticks out?

Any takers?

I tried repositioning the seat, played with lumber, but no matter what I do, i'm still stuck with the awkward back position. I dont know why they would make the headrests so unnatural on the 4th gens- the 2 and 3 gens were great. (It doesnt look like the laramie headrests are the same, so maybe I need to track a set of those down?)

An example can be seen here: http://www.automobilemag.com/reviews.../photo_07.html How is that a natural position?

Take the headrest off and bend the rods back. That will lean it back some. That's what I did.

or chop off some of your legs and you'll be shorter like me and you'll be alright! What CMerritt did sounds like the best idea...

I'm short so for me it doesn't seem to bad..IMO

How did you manage to do this? I tried a vice and vicegrips and couldn't get the leverage to bend it.I thought about putting a pipe onto the rods for leverage but I couldnt figure out how the secure the headrest portion withought tearing apart the foam? Or did you bend it mid way down the rod?

Must just be a height thing, I'm 6ft and the headrests are as comfortable as any other vehicle I've owned.

To bend the headrests, I'd take the cover off of it first - and the foam if it comes off easy so that you can get the headrest clamped into something when you bend the rods.

Heat up the rods and you'd be able to bend them. but like others said take the cover off first.
