Got my XDI extreme intake a few minutes ago
I installed this XDI a week ago. Hemi breathes better, and sounds better when you put your foot into it. Power wise it is hard to tell, but those with a more sensitive feel can let us know. I would buy again, easy to install, and so far my mileage seems to have grown by 1-2, but too early to tell.
Sobo i agree with you, thats why i was thinking of send this back when i was looking at it in the box.
But no joke.. the engine does rev quicker, the truck seems to take off more instantaneous and the exhaust just sounds wicked
I believe a true cold air intake would prolly be better.. but until i see one from K&N, Banks or S&B ill stay happy with this

the breathing problem is as noticeable as previous models like my 06 had to gasp for air before it exploded, but after the CAI it turned into consistant acceleration.
With the redesighned manifold on this hemi it still gasps for air but since the airflow is managed diferently you dont notice it as much plus with the extra horses it picks up fast enough.
I dont really like the looks of the XDI intake with that elbow just added on, Im still waiting for a K&N to be ready with the solid polished aluminum tube into a box sealed from the heat against the hood.
As for a tuner I stick with superchips you can take it out at any time, change your tire size ,program if it of low grade or supreme and remove it quickly when you need it worked on so you dont void your waranty.

yeah bounty.. thats a true cai. But i wonder how man more horses that gets over the xdi i installed.. maybe 5-6?
i really do love the look of the xdi a lot more.. it doesnt even compare to the airaid

Doc I loved seeing your reply earlier. First you are ready to send it back then a complete turnaround and you're recommending it. Keep us updated on mileage gains and any other feelings you have as you truck's computer adjusts to it.
yeah chambers.. when im wrong i try to admit it, and it seems i prejudged the XDI.
my driving is stop and go on a 5 lane highway 90% of the time. on my last full tank the gauge on the dash said i got 10.9 mpg. well see if i can get deep in the 12s lol
