I have 2 wheel drive as I couldnt justify the extra cost of a 4x4 but I really like the look of a lift of maybe 2-4". Are there any reasons why I shouldnt do this?

Other than people giving you crap about a lifted 2 wheel drive. No. So like the last guy said, it's all in what you want.

Well, I'm not sure why anyone who doesn't need it would want to do it. Off roading requires more ground clearence, more ground clearence requires bigger tires and bigger tires require a lift kit. That is the only functional purpose of a lift kit. First of all I don't know if anyone offers a suspension lift for 2wd, but the spacer lift will probably work. If you are running anything higher than 3.55 gears your going to notice a huge acceloration decline. You also decrease your fuel mileage by adding bigger or heavier tirewheel combinations. Susspension lifts will void your susspension warrenty and possibly others if they can prove your additions caused another part's malfunction. Also these parts are not designed for use on these trucks by chrysler engineers; however, most lift kit manufacturers have reputable track records designing these parts. So make of it what you will.

What gears do you have and what engine do you have?
As long as you have the hemi or 4.7 with 3.55 or lower gears, you will be fine to run up to 37"s if you get a kit that will accomidate them.

Also, is the appearence worth the consiquences to you?

Many people lift trucks for the looks, just like lowering.. Who needs a vehicle sitting 2 inches of the ground? Its all personal preference. I thought you needed high gears like 4.10's to help with adding larger tires, or are they considered "lower"? I considered putting 33 or 35's on my leveled TRX4 but mainly haven't due to MPG loss. The factory combination is actually decent.

The higher the number the lower the gears, it is the ratio of how many times the pinion gear rotates to complete one revolution of the ring gear therefore lowering the turning ratio of the tires, but you are correct in your thinking, 4.10's are excellent for off road use. There is also gearing in your transmission and transfer case that affect gearing. I had a 79 blazer with a 6 to 1 ratio 1st gear. I could climb a hill without touching the gas and I think I had 3.23's in the rear end at the time. I agree, these are ausome trucks the way they sit, but everyone has to add their own personal preferences.

P.S. Sweet ride!!!

As far as power, I dont think you will be able to notice. But depending on how agressive of a tire you get, MPG can be affected differently. You have 33's on it already. I don't know how much the wheels weigh but I know they are light. I also don't know what you need as far as rims to clear 35" tires, but there is different back spacing available. You can probly call 4 wheel parts, I'm sure they would be knowledgable on our trucks by now. Logging off, see ya tomarrow.

Yeah prob what I will end up with 33's at some point... I saw a leveled ram with 35s and I think the wheel gap is a bit too small.

Yeah I'm starting to kick myself for rushing into the 20's and getting rid of the 17's.
