You have established for sure the orange wire is for the plug? It might be for the UConnect module or even the IPOD wiring, if you have not for sure. Just double checking and curious.

Yes I did check on one with the plug and the adapter is indeed for that. Whats holding me up on this little project is the need for the inverter which from the dealer cost more than a hundred dollars. At some point some salvage yards will get some 2009s, and then I will do the swap for much less than buying parts from the dealer.

Guys I am interested in following your example and getting a myGig from Ebay will any REN that is High Speed Bus work or are there certian ones that only work. I know that the Low Speed Does not work. Also I know for the Uconnect the dealer needs to program the system do they have to do anything with these units also can you just add the mic like on the REN or do you need the entire uconnect system? Any help and advice appreciated.

wellstep just email doug at this web site, he has all the info on what you need what will need to be programmed and he was very helpfull when i purchased my RER from him. and his prices are equal to what most units are selling for on ebay. plus you know your buying from someone who will actually ship it.

Were you ever able to find a switch part number?

Ive boughten an entirely new center console form the dealer and it does not come with the switch, it has an opening for the plug so I'm intending on purchasing that, but need the switch for the dash.

All of this will most likely be for show for now until I can find an inverter for cheap, I just want some thing to fill the hole in my dash!

Alright I purchased this part from the dealer. It was about 12 bucks. Should come in on Thursday, when I pick it up I'll do some digging with the dealer about the switch.

edit: Alright I went today and found the switch, part number is 68026057-AB price is 44 dollars.

I'll probably go ahead and order the inverter from the dealership next paycheck.
