Been tried with 3rd gens and it was a mess.
You are right. In my case, I guess I was overwhelmed or something. I looked the truck through and through, but did not think to tap on the wheels until I read something on here.
I can't complain too much though as I ended up making some cash off the deal. After selling the plastic wheels on ebay, I netted $100.

Good topic, I think most of us have the same gripes about an otherwise pretty slick truck.

I agree the EVIC display should definitely show more info, more useful info that is.
And I totally agree with the dimming. I wish you could turn the screen on the MyGig off while still having the radio on, and not the lighted black screen but the off screen when the truck is actually off.

Also I wish the uconnect button was on the steering wheel.

While I don't mind the cruise control stick, I also wish that was on the steering wheel. There's more than enough room to put 3 buttons per side instead of the 2 huge buttons on each side.

I also like the step that Ford has integrated into their trucks for getting in and out of the bed.

I'd also like some additional hooks in the bed for straping stuff down.

I'm surprised they designed the tailgate top so that water pools on the top of it.

Just thinking that today. With my soft tonneau installed, water pools on the top of the tailgate and seeps under the edge under the cover. I have a bedliner with the raised ribs so nothing actually get wet but pretty annoying and poor thinking on their part.

+1 on the Cruise and Uconnect button..not really a big deal but an oversight if you ask me

I also wish the steering wheel telescoped as well as tilted. Rain sensing wipers would be nice as well.

BUT...I LOVE THE TRUCK!!

I found a solution for the shiny chrome on the center console by mistake, I recently tinted my windows and they threw in a free sun strip that goes across the top of the windshield. It was free so I said ok and was surprised to see that it shades the chrome enough so that it doesnt blind me.

I agree with everyone else on the rims! I felt cheated! I thought it was Chryslers way of saving money and that pissed me off!!

For those with the RAMBOX take a look in the rear view mirror and you can clearly see that the body lines on the box dont line up with the rest of the bed.

What is that little "compartment" on the left side of the steering wheel for??

Now that you mention it, the UConnect button should be on the steering wheel, not the radio.

I don't like the console shifter. You should have to move the shifter over to another gate to change forward gears. I've noticed that when I make a left turn and I have my hand on the shifter, as the truck turns I'll pull the shifter over and it'll hang in first - not a good design. On my wife's BMW you have to move the lever to the left and then toggle it forward or back to change forward gears.

Another thing that gripes me is the Tow/Haul button - when it's engaged the truck will only go to 4th gear even though 5 is displayed in the instrument panel. It should shift into 5th so when you're on a flat highway you don't have to worry about pushing in the button to get your MPG up when you're towing.

UConnect button on radio is probably so the feature is shared with the passenger - makes the phone feature usable by front occupants but detracts from the intent of "hands-free" (focus remaining on wheel and road and driving). It would be best if there were a 2nd UConnect button integrated into the wheel, but...

Pet Peeves (and thought) after four days of ownership are somewhat the same.....just have to vent them!!
1. uConnect button SHOULD be on the steering wheel, far reach for the driver!
2. LOVE the Rambox, useful, great design but the reveal is a bit uneven......actually not even worth listing because of the GREAT idea....strike this.
3. Plastic wheels were a HUGE disappointment! I looked at the GMC, Ford and Tundra before buying and ALL offered cast wheels of various sizes. My truck stickered at 52,565, one of the most and has plastic wheels. Now, after thinking about the benefits of having plastic vs. cast, plastic wins due to the ability to replace and won't pit. I guess I am okay with the idea now......until I put on some 22's!!
4. HEMI Hesitation.......not sure if she isn't getting enough air or what. Will be putting on Mufflex muffler and CAI, hopefully aid in this.
5. Are the seats leather????? Compared to others they seem like a leather / vinyl mixture....nice looking though. Nothing compares to my 05 F150 King Ranch leather!
6. Manual shifting CONSTANTLY getting hit into lower gears.....will take some time to get used to.
7. No automatic folding mirrors!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
8. Could use a couple more charging ports, one in the upper glove box and one more in the back seating area.
9. Minor here and more of an cleaning issue but all of the surface storage "trays" are going to be a nightmare to keep clean.
10. NO COIN HOLDER!
Overall, I love the truck. Quiet cab, great features, storage EVERYWHERE, Rambox, bed extender design, cab layout (overall), classiness of cab, rear leg room, uConnect Studio (kids love it!), exterior lighting, A/C seats, heated rear seats, rear sliding window......did I mention the Rambox!
2009 Ram 1500 CC Laramie......LOADED! (minus backup camera....)

2009 Ram 1500 CC Laramie
1 month
1200 miles

only one complaint at this point. i have a steep inclined driveway that will not allow my front doors to stay open easily and the rear doors will not stay open at all. no problem with old truck (GMC). the ribs on the door guides seem to be visibly smaller than they should.
