1. Lots of under the seat storage - unless you have the upgraded sound system - which takes up 2/3rds of the back seat storage with a woofer, etc.

2. There is no 'pause' button on the u-connect sound system. You have to turn the whole system off to pause anything.

3. Coin holder?

4. Ford has a good design on the back tailgate with a fold out step. Also the tailgate falls like a rock when opening.

5. EVIC - should be able to change what you see and in what order. I am constantly having to scroll down to get to the average mpg.

Lastly the wheels: They're shiny and go round and round and round - so I have no complaints.

After driving the truck for a few weeks, here's mine.

EVIC - can't see MPG and Miles to Empty at the same time (messages is always 0, I don't care, they could make it pop up when/if I get one).

Radio antenna attachment to the fender is a bit floppy/flimsy. I'm sure its on there good, i'm talking about the plastic bezel piece that covers the mount.

Leather seats deform after sitting on them.

chrome trim around the shifter console seems cheaply attached (may be something I have them warranty fix as mine has a gap)

Plastic Wheel covers on the 20"ers

Anyone else feel that the driver's seat feels like it is leaning too much toward the outside of the vehicle?
I feel like the position of the seat requires some shims or something on the left side to put the angle right.

I am taking the truck to the dealer Saturday for seat concerns. First one is that the left side of the cushion seemed higher/harder and there is/was (I have 'worked that side' some) bulge that was hitting a nerve on the back of my leg and putting it to sleep. Second, it seems to being leaning to the right a bit. At least I feel like I am leaning a bit right. They have ordered a new cushion. But I am a bit leary of replacing it, since I have the bulge kinda worked out. The svc mgr and I will discuss this Saturday.

I am glad that I am not the only one that feels like they are leaning

We have the center console in our truck. There is a cubby hole below the radio/temp controls, etc that we put our sunglasses in. It is right behind the shifter. It works pretty well. But, sometimes the sunglasses will rattle up against the top part. Nothing that can't be fixed quick

Yes, I have the same compartment but it does not hold sunglasses particularly well as they will move around too much, ending up with scratched lenses.... There really should be a compartment, like on most cars, that is shaped to hold them.

Coming from an '03 Ram 4X4 SLT QC, I have found a few items of concern. Granted I have only owned this vehicle for two days and have only 107 miles on it, nontheless I have found a few minor differences from the '03 I think kind of cheapens the RAM image for me.
First, they removed the quick disconnect switch from the main fuse box next to the battery, that was very nice for making changes without physically disconnecting the battery terminals.
Second, the visors are molded plastic with no pockets in them, I miss the fabric.
Third, the steering wheel is very slippery, has the leather wrapped wheel been replaced on SLT? it sure feels plasticy.
Fourth, the fold flat floor is now plastic, steel seemed much more durable, and less prone to warpage. I should have pulled mine out of the '03 before trade...
Fifth, the cleat type tie downs in the bed have been replaced by a nasty looking steel hoop coming through a cut out on the bed wall.
Sixth, I really liked the better access with the grille attached to the hood of the previous gen.

As far as the pros of the '09, I love the ride difference with the new suspension. The Hemi has a 45 h.p. increase over the '03 model, the fuel mileage has notably increased during around town driving. The Auto Stick feature is way overdue, I have used this on the wife's '07 Nitro driving in slippery conditions.

Overall, I am very happy with my Ram 1500, especially for the price I paid for it!

I'll add one more thing.
The passenger seatbelt buckle will rattle againt the door pillar if it's not retracted right. I have to lean across and straighten it up every time someone gets out of the truck. Not a big deal, just rattles are annoying to me.

6) Center Console "Bling" and Sharp-edged Trim - Why is it that modern North American vehicle designers are convinced that shiny "Bling" - metallicized or chrome-coated plastic trim - will equate with "Luxury" and "Quality" ?? OK, it's often an improvement over a square-yard of smooth or orange-peel textured plastic. Yet on the Center Console of the '09 Ram, it seems Too Much! The Shift Gate could be trimmed in chromed-plastic. But why the majority of the Console ?? Living in Arizona, life lessons (and 1st-2nd degree burns) have taught that anything the Sun shines onto for any length of time will produce tons of glare and absorb painful heat. So, I have to be additionally careful to Don't Touch every time I climb in. And use my right forearm to shield my eyes from random stabs of sunlight glare. (It does wonders to tan the underside of my right arm - balances out the "Truckers Tan" that I get on my left.) The whole Center Console is like a box with the "top" having sharp edges not at all comfortable when you have your leg leaning against it while under Cruise Control. The front passenger side has the same Center Console Edge issue - and if you scratch up the girl's leg you know who's going to PAY for that...

This was the first thing that got me. I may have to look at changing this because its so annoying

Number one issue for me was the center console! Can't find an good leg position with it. Ford and Tundra was fine. Just fix it dodge! Suck up your pride and copy Ford or Tundra on that!

Almost bought the tundra b/c of it.

2. So I had to go with out the console, and now I'm missing by vented seats!. What a ****! It's not even an option, it should be.

The rest is still nice to have.

3. No cabin filter (Help keep the cabin cleaner)
4. MPG inst and Fuel used (I'm lazy and don't want to do the math)
5. Rain Sensing wipers (missing it!, but I know it suck in the winter, you'll understand after having it)
6. Driving selectable settings (Fuel saver, HP, etc.) I think Durango has it (Sometimes I feel cheap and want to save some gas, other times a ****)
7. Xenon Lights Option (no big deal, $150 will solve that)
8. Why not also add the adaptive cruse control form the 300c (the second generation one that can stop and start the truck) (Audi Q7)

Otherwise I love it, this is my first truck and I like to think that I had an open mind when comparing all the trucks. If this was the 08 model, I don't think I would have gone Dodge.

But the F'ing center console cost me my vented seat!. Now I'm going to be remind all summer!

Oh ya,

09 Laramie with everything except center console option, still stock.

Richard
