They cover it for 5 years with a warranty. Is this something worthwhile or a money scam? Are they car care products out there that do the same thing (protect from the Suns UV rays from damaging clearcoat finishes).

Secondly, they offered the extended warranty for my vehicle. They offered a 7year/70,000 mile warranty for about $1,400 or the lifetime maxcare warranty for about $2,800. Is this something worthwhile? I plan on keeping my truck for a very long time and the lifetime powertrain warratny was one thing that sold me on it. I think the maxcare lifetime warranty might go well with this?

Hope to hear your thoughts and thanks for your help!
Don't know about the paint protection. Seems to me a good wax would do the same thing. I think the seat material is Yes essentials fabric. If it is, it is stain resistant from the factory. The maxcare price is a bit high. Most people here got them for under $2000. I had the option of 7/70 for $1600 and maxcare for $1975. I got the maxcare but a lot of people on here got it cheaper than that. ~$1600 if I remember correctly. Might do a search on here for maxcare to find prices.

Do you know if this lifetime maxcare price is negotiable? I believe I read in the papers that I have up to 48 months to purchase the warranty, however the price he offered me supposedly changes on whatever Chrysler says it will be??

I was quoted:
2,875 for 100.00 deductible
3,465 for 50.00 dedcutible
4,210 for 0.00 deductible

I would only go with the 100 deductbile because I can't afford anything more, but not if I can negotiate it.

Price is negotiable. They wanted $2400 for my maxcare. When I balked they eventually came down to $1975 with $50 deductible.

The only add-ons the dealer offered me was a paint protection package (I declined, just wash your car regularly), a fabric protection (again, was your car!) and an undercarriage spray with the petroleum to protect against rusting. I got the undercarriage protection. They said it's not standard on vehicles like it used to be. It ran about $600, but I find this a must if you live somewhere where it snows / rains a lot.

$100 deductible you should pay between $1600 - $1900.

That is a fair range and the dealer still makes money for filling out a piece of paper. Plus the Finance managers are always in a contest sponsored by Chrysler and who ever sells the most Extended Warranty's wins cruises or money so there are other incentives for them to have you buy the extended warranty other than the price hey sell it for.

The prices you quoted above are from a dishonest, greedy dealer who is trying to take advantage of you!

Also note, you can call other Dodge dealers, ask to speak to the Finance Manager and ask them if they ill sell you the Maxcare Lifetime for $200 over cost. Many will say yes for the above stated reasons (only filling out application / helps win contests).

I just talkedto my salesman and he quoted me $1200.00 for Chryslers MAXCARE plan of 7yrs/ 100,000 miles. $100.00 deductible.

He also quoted me Lifetime MAXCARE with the same $100.00 deductible for $3200.00.

When were you quoted that price of 1,975? Im wondering if Chrysler is changing their prices for this warranty? But then again its said to be negotiable so that wouldnt hold true. Just wondering. Thanks!

Price adjustments are usally an annual thing for Extended Warranty's.

At least they were when I was in the business years ago.
