Vin tracking during production
Sorry, I can't answer your original question, but wasn't production shut down? I don't think you're going to see too much progress in the coming weeks, and I doubt they can make that July delivery date.
It is interesting you even got a VIN. There is no way they can give you a complete date, they do not even know when the lines are starting back up.
To track though you need to be an employee, know one, call the dealer or call Chrysler.

It's interesting they gave it a VIN that quick. It's usually a few days after the VON when the vehicle is scheduled for production. I'm an employee and all the plants are still down. We were told 4-8 week shutdown until bankruptcy is complete.
Who knows I got the vin may 4th I'll find out whats up Might have to have to check out the inventory in Chicago

No. I called the factory with my VON and VIN when they were in production to check build status and they wouldnt/couldnt do it.
Wouldn't...............the can when running. You can track it down the line.I watched my wifes neon for 2 days being built, I asked for it to be pulled into I forget what the call it but it's a department that goes over ever bolt for torque, visually checks for damages, check paint, even road test. That was a mistake, some how there was a issue found that was "new" so they had to keep the car until a number of engineers and execs signed off on the new fix. Even after that, we had to have the firewall sealed, after a big rain you drive off and the passenger got their legs soaked by at least a gallon or 2 of water. They claimed some seam sealer got missed, That is one of the things they are supposed to look for.
Then a 5 trip ordeal to get the a/c fixed which finally after they changed everything, turned out to be a relay like I explained to them, I said it works fine till the weather gets over 85 or more then you would here a click and the air went off. It was a relay that turns the fan on automatically when you put he air on, was defective and overheated and shut off. 5 trips and finally I basically tell them what to fix. Is why I don't go to dealer unless it's warranty and then I try to avoid he big dealerships that hire kids out of high school.
