Now the lowest the dealer will go is $35,000 plus tax title dealer fee and reg. This seems a little high for me. He claims this is $500 over invoice. What do you guys think?

If he is short of stock, he may be wishing to keep that truck. It is a well specced truck - HEMI & Nav, two things that caught my eye.

To put it in perspective, I paid about $2.5k less than the $35k he is asking for my 4x2 Laramie. But that was best part of 2 months ago. Mucho water under the bridge since then.

How much can you buy a similar spec truck for at other dealers? If you do not know the answer to this, you will get raped. The only way you will find out is to do the legwork. Good luck, the 09 RAM w/HEMI is a winner!

Where do you live? I know of three trucks in Iowa right now that are 10k off sticker. But then again, today was the deadline for closing dealers to sell off their stock.

I would find another dealer.

I think they don't want to sell that truck. That truck with an MSRP of $42,565 has an Employee price of $36,632. The average rebates right now are around $5,000 I think, so you should be able to get that truck for around $31,132 or so. Dealer invoice is probably around $37,500 or so. Ask to see the invoice. In the middle near the bottom after the list of options will be EP, FF?, and HB. EP is the employee price, FF(not sure if this is the right abbreviation) is Friends and family price, and HB is the holdback. At the bottom of the page will be the MSRP and dealer invoice price.

for me, given info posted here by a dealer employee, I found $10k was a solid discount ( no trade-ins, no tt&l, etc.). We found a few we liked and we couldn't get any lower on the one we got than $10k. Some dealers were advertising upwards of $12k off and even $13-$14k but those were 4x4 Laramies and that was more than we wanted. I added up the various discounts and rebates I knew I qualifeid for then deducted that off of the invoice price available on kbb and edmunds.

They were a bit proud of the truck we ended up getting and felt they couldn't go lower than $10k as they thought they could get more at some point. Admittedly, Detonator Yellow is hard to find with the right options. Again, better deals have been out there but I was fine getting what we got.

I bought mine about 2 weeks ago. here is the deal.

I dont know if its a good deal or not but i bought a crew cab, 4x4, lone star package (5.7L hemi, 20" alloy wheels and a few other bells and whistles) It has the front cloth bucket seats with center console and center shifter (you REALLY want this option), 3.92 rear end with Limited slip, fog lights, Power every thing including the power sliding rear window, Garage door opener, Upgraded instrument panel with evic (or what ever its called) and the a/c power inverter, steering wheel audio controls, cruise control etc. and i paid 28200 plus TTL. (when i bought there were no really good factory rebates so your price could be even lower).
Photos are here www.cngmail.com/truckandaudio.html
Sticker on the truck was $40,644.00 the moral of the story is you might be able to afford the 4x4 and hemi and a few other options that you didnt think you could.

Here is what it looks like with a little work http://www.cngmail.com/stereoinstall.html

Just a thought, when i first started shopping and saw the sticker prices on some of these trucks i thought you gota be out of your mind.

Actually, with kids or large extended families, you may not want it. I chose not to get it because I wanted seating for six. Well, legal seating for six. I had four in the back seat once.

Why don't you post these in the for sale section and not thread crap? How many threads, that have nothing to do with wheels and tires, have you put this post in?

At the very least, post these wheels in a thread about trucks they will fit on. 2009 Ram 1500's cannot use an 8-lug wheel.

If you want to sell your junk go to ebay or craig's list. Or at least find an appropriate conversation to post in.

X2 - the center console/shifter is a huge waste of space. Besides, pickups are supposed to have bench seats so that your wife/girlfriend doesn't have to be 3 feet away
