Why hate unions there are several reasons why. Do you remember when the housing bubble first started to burst and the economy first started it downhill run. The union works at dodge went on strike because they weren't making enough. The reason dodge and Chevy are in the mess that they are in is 80% the unions fault the other 20 is the execs for not making changes sooner. As far as making the work place safer don't kid yourself. Lets get one thing straight real quick. There are three trades that are true unions that should be unions in my eyes. Electrical, Plumbing and steel workers. In my opinion these three should change the name to guild instead of union. These three unions understand the relationship between the contractor and the worker. They understand that the contractor has to make money to in order for them to have a job. As far as the rest of the unions I think they need to sit on it and rotate. Teachers union, workers unions, and especially the Auto workers union. They are out for themselves and no one else.
