I have a 2009 Laramie without the locking tailgate. I want to order the parts needed to make it lock, but I can not find a dealer or parts place that carries them. I did find some online sources that carry the handle, but not the mechanism or rods. I want to order online since my local dealer closed.
Anyone know where I can order all the parts?

I tried them and it finds no matches to any of the parts using the part numbers provided by Smoothbassman and other members.

 

Just call them. They are just a dodge dealer that sells parts on the internet. They can get anything mopar. For that matter you could call any dodge dealer and just have them ship it.

 

I ordered mine through the local Dodge dealer parts deptartment. Took only about a week for the parts to arrive. I would think any Dodge dealer can order these parts.

 

Dang it. I have a 09 RAM 1500 Laramie that didn't come with a locking tailgate. My truck is at the dealer now!! and they just called to tell me they can't install the power lock tailgate without the manual lock tailgate factory installed. I can't believe there is no option for a manual tailgate lock on my new truck. Does anyone happen to have a part number for a manual tailgate lock for my truck?!?!?

 

Your truck is built prior to Dec 08 or it would have a manual locking tailgate. Check you door or the b pillar for build date. I think since after January they started putting them on, we should get them also, I wonder what the full list of differences is?

I just ordered everything through my local dealer, said it would take 5-7 days with the holiday weekend.

 

I picked up the parts listed from the local Mopar...
Everything installed in about 20 minutes with my 11 year old helping...
The Service dept had told me it didn't exist, their mistake probably saved me an $80 install fee...
