I am willing to bet that they tell me that they couldn't find anything wrong with the key fob. I'll keep you guys updated. TTYL.
Any word on the problem or fix from the dealer?

I once owned a Ford that if you manually pressed the unlock door to let the passanger in the key fob would not work or reset itself unless I locked the door manually again. I wonder if that has something to do with it. Some how the key fob gets off sink when you manually lock or unlock the trucks door from the inside.

Default key fob

Well, the dealer admitted that they had noticed the problem, but no good explination was given. They said after they "ran some programs" it stoped doing it, but I would be the true test since I use it everyday. So, i'll keep everyone updated on what happens.

If I don't have a problem for sometime then maybe you can go to the dealer so they can "run some programs" HA HA HA.

Angry Key fob randomly not working

Hey guys, so for shi!t$ and giggles I decided to try and email Dodge/Chrysler or whatever they are now regarding this key fob issue. I hate it when stuff doesn't work like it's suppose to. After their email server crapped out twice when I hit send I decided to just call and see what happens.

Called 1 800 992 1997, sat on hold for only a few minutes after going through all the prompts and spoke to a nice (french maybe) guy. I told him that I wanted to find out if there were any recalls or problems reported with the '09 key fobs. He "checked the system" and told me at this time they have not been made aware of any key fob problems. His suggestion was to see my dealer straight away, they love to tell you that, and see if they can diagnose the problem. I told him that was also the problem, the dealers are no help at this point. He logged my concern and said to call back if the dealer wasn't any help.

Anyway, the guy created a reference number on my account for this. Might try to email later today, I wanted to send a link to this forum to show how many people are having this problem.

That's because it was a Ford.

I parked one night and couldn't get my FOB out of the ignition. I liked to never realized that my shifter wasn't all the way in park. I got pissed and was pulling as hard as I could but it wouldn't come out. LOL. Then I found the problem and felt like an idiot. (As usual)

i had my truck in the shop yesterday, and figured i'd test my fob. grabbed the special tool for checking signal strength and went at it. you hold the button on the tester & push the fob buttons. signal strength is displayed on tester's led meter. about 1/2 the time, mine would get no signal. still holding the fob button w/ no signal, i moved the fob around and held tester still and would then get full signal strength. seeing as my truck was outside on the other side of the building at the time, theres no way the truck is doing anything. so that leads me to believe that this is a fob issue.

I just found a new dealer to go to today. Some of the guys at my other dealer now work there since they got shut down. Asked if they had heard of this problem and they had not. I am sure they will look into it though. But, when I left and got back home and tried to lock the doors, they wouldn't lock. Had to lock from in the truck, then the fob would start to work. Anyone else have that happen too? This is the third time it has happened to me.

I took my truck in for some warranty related repairs and had them check out my keyless entry system. When I got the truck back (5 days later) I had 2 new fobs. The temperature reading still takes 20 minutes to get a close reading, and that's what they put on the service invoice - "Can take 20 minutes to read temperature".
