I had all my truck modules updated by my friend at the dealer. There was an update for the keyless with remote start. I haven't had any problems since, but we will see.

I was told that if you have an RFID nearby that it can create an issue. I have noticed that if my Exxon Speedpass is in contact the fob sometimes will not work. I have also noticed that my fob will not work other times as well when the Speedpass is no where around. I have not been able to determine an linkeage other than I was told that if the Speedpass was in contact then the fob might not work. Just a few more thoughts on the matter.

I can go a few days with no problems, and then out of no where for no apparent reason I will be locked out of my truck for a few minutes while I continually push the unlock button. I dread going to the dealer for this problem, because I am sure it will work fine for them and be a complete waste of my day, not having the truck. I really wish that if someone does know of a specific software update or fob recall reference #, they would share it here.

It seems the west coast dealers are the last to get updated information like this.

Thanks!!!

Default An even bigger problem

Since I took my truck in to the dealer, they said they "ran some programs" on it and to watch if it stops. Well, it did for a couple of days. Then started back up again.

Now, i have an even bigger problem than that. The doors unlock all by themselves now. Constantly too. The just keep unlocking. Mostly after i turn the engine off and remove the key. Sometimes, it will even open the windows(as if you were holding the unlock button down). This is bad, because what if it is raining? What if I have something of value in the truck and it unlocks while I am away from the truck? I am rather upset about this and I have to drive 25 min. just to get to the dealer since Chrysler shut down my local dealer.

Is anyone else having a problem like this? THanks.

Tom

Went to the dealer today for first oil change and to have key fob looked at. Dealer had no knowledge of key fob problem and nothing came up when they checked the chrysler database.

Technician reported back "unable to duplicate problem", I'm not surprised. The service manager told me some story that you have 3 attempts pressing the button than the computer in the truck changes its code. Then the fob and truck won't match again until you use the fob to start the truck again. The computer and fob will then update together. Not sure how much I believe this.

That's BS. I've had to press my fob several times on more than one occasion to unlock the door, but the door does eventually unlock. I've never had to start the truck to reset the fob.

I'm two weeks in with my '09. I spent yesterday hitting my unlock button several times every time I got into my truck.

My radio (RER) kept going back to the local FM oldies station (not where I left it) as well.

Sounds like the system has some bugs that need to be worked out.

I took mine in and they said never heard of the problem, they had a box that he cheaked the signal with, showed a strong signal ,even locking and unlocking my truck 50 yards away in there shop, you could hear the horn beeping, worked perfect while he tested it, speaking of radios, mine displays something new every time I start it, I always have it on the map but half the time it is on radio menu or nav menu when it first cranks, I see no pattern, no big deal to hit map button just seems like it would stay were you put it!

It's the randomness of it that drives me crazy.
Today:
Morning ride in - fine.
Out for lunch - oldies station. Also had the unlock problem - they must be related.
Ride home - fine.

Hmm. I have been watching this thread only because I have a aftermarket one and a 2001 Dodge, but I see that is this is a brand new truck that is too bad that people are having a problem like this with a brand new truck!??? I dont understand why the dealer is not really taking care of this for you guys! Thats a big turn off to mefor the new Dodge Rams.
