Power tailgate lock install
Thought I'd post a couple pictures since the drawings in the instructions are terrible. I think I've got one of almost every tool made, but for those that don't a tool list would be good - which they don't provide.
T30 torx bit
T20 torx bit
8mm socket (deep works best)
1/4" ratchet and extension
5/32" drill bit and drill
Pop rivet tool
Crimper
soldering iron (if you hate crimped connections as much as I do)
Here's the pics so far. Took the tailgate off and did it in the living room. Wiring will have to wait, I've got a dealer appointment tommorrow for a flakey ABS system and didn't want to disconnect the battery and clear the codes.
Total time so far, about 1 hour if you count taking off the tailgate and putting it back on.

It uses the original cylinder, and everything that is already there. The kit requires that you have the locking tailgate handle.

If you look up the kit under the old number, 82211668, it does say about the keys. My guess is that it was a misprint.
