Mine did this as well. If it sat overnight it would have a hard time starting and when it did I got a huge puff of white smoke. My 05 5.7 Grand Cherokee did the same thing. Turned out to be the gas I was using. It's a local gas station. I went out of town one day and filled up with BP and it hasn't happened since (quit using the local gas station)
AAAHHHHHH, possibly water in the fuel??? I will definately give that a try. I usually fill at the shell station and my last tank was at an esso, so back to shell it will be to see what happens, thanx for the heads up, plus I always run the premium fuel.
could be bad guides from the factory. could be the way the truck's used. this particular one is apparantly used going back and forth to the north slope (our "oil" area). so that could be a factor as its very rough terrain. hard to say either way.
