WOW SILVER SHARK.....thank you for posting that...I guess its a silver thing , I got blasted by people here when I talked about my mileage, the 3:21's may not be the quarter mile option, but it saves on fuel, on long trips, with the a/c on and highway speeds, once on the highway the acceleration is pretty strong at 70.

ya I looked through all of that one. only thing is most of those posts were from a while ago with mainly brand new trucks. I would thing that after a solid 5 - 10k miles are on the trucks the mileage will level out and may improve?

My wife and I drove around 380 miles this last weekend. 90% hwy, 10% getting out of the city, but the why between New Braunfels, TX and Waco is almost like city driving only no stop lights. We averaged 18.7mpg for the whole trip. I have the CC with 5.7 and 3:92's. Due to traffic most of my cruising was between 65-70 mph. This is the best milage I've gotten in any truck I've owned. There are always comprimises when going after power or milage. You will get better milage with the 3:21's then you will with the 3:92's, but a lot of it depends on your driving style also. This trip we took is also the first time I've seen the fuel saver on while at hwy speeds. Jeff.

18.7 with your engine/gear/cc setup is great if you ask me. I agree with you, driving style really affects mileage. a few questions for you - how do you fair with 50/50 driving and how many miles do you have on the truck?

I get 15-16 around town and 18-19 on the hwy running 87 octane on a CC 4X4 with 5.7 and 3.92 tonneau cover makes no diff. I am happy as similar to what I was getting from a 3/4 Mega Cab with 5.9 Cummins but this fits in my garage and does anything I need it to.

I have never gotten less than 20.0 hand calc, on trips with the a/c on and at 65/70, maybe someone could do a poll on gas mileage but put just the (gears) , and put city and then highway, and 4wd or 2wd,I know options and driving style have a lot to do with it, but ,the numbers look real close, I think it would help a person buying a new truck to see about what he will get at a glance.....just a thought

bullraider - how does the truck drive with the 3.21 gears? 4x2 or 4x4? like you mention I am looking to get a new truck and would like to have a good idea so I can really focus on 1 truck before getting beat down by a salesman all day

The 3.21's feel just fine, even towing 4000lbs. You can only get 3.21 in a 2wd

Like oldjeep said they feel fine to me, not on the take off, if you are a drag racer, the traction controll is holding ALL of us back, cant wait to see how this truck will react to the programmer, a funny thing is alot of people dont line up and race, i get kids all the time come at me when we are on the highway, you just have to feel the difference, it will pull all the way to the cut off, and still wants to go, my neighbor has the 3:92"s and we pull the same or I pull him by a little to the top, not at the start, it just depends on what you personally want ...I wanted gas mileage, the most I could get, and the performance, I am very happy with mine, mine is a 2wd
