some people might not realize how much money that little light will save you!! i have it on my 08 grand cherokee overland. sometimes on the highway 1mph will be enough to run in 4cy or 8cyl. its nice to know exactly how fast you can go on the highway with the current weather conditions ect. and still be in 4cyl mode. that is the biggest adv. for me.

CJDT: Question. Since you work for a dealer, is this update something Dodge sent out to the dealers like some of the other RRT. That is, when you bring the vehicle in they will then do the service. I got to take mine in, guess their is a recall for the AC control. I would like for them to do the flash at that time. I looked at my build sheet and the hemi engine is one of the EZD. My service advisor when I talked to him today gave me the impression he was not aware of the update. He was going to look up number 18-019-09 and see if it applies. Thanks for all your help.

Is there a fee to have your truck flashed?

Oh and tanks for letting us know this was out.

Newbie here. What is a build sheet or how do I find out which engine designation I have? Mine was built 4/2/09 with the 5.7 Hemi. My fuel saver light has always been visible. Thanx guys!

You can get the build sheet from your dealer. Parts department printed a copy for me. It basically a vehicle information report showing all the build/option codes for your truck. Earlier Rams with build dates of 10/2008 to like 01/2009? did not come with the fuel saver light.

Do you know if this will work on a standard guage cluster (No EVIC ie. an ST)?

I just had my 2009 ram 1500 ST in for an oil change last week and they told me they flashed the computer and ABS module. I have the standard cluster (No EVIC) and there is NO MDS light.
