so just to get a clear answer- the light is already there but just needs to be activated with the flash? mine has a 11/08 build date. i was under the impression that the light was not there until the 12/08 builds. thanks for hooking us up with the info!

my truck is a SLT hemi build date 12-03- 08

The only change that was made was a pcm flash of software and also a RRT 09-041 a abs module flash and I now have the light coming on my truck in the cluster Like I have been saying all along its a software issue they can fix it and they did thanks to all you guys that emailed and called them.

Maybee you guys can sticky this so everyone gets the info

It's not a light per se, it shows up at the bottom of the EVIC.

So do you think that newer trucks will need this flash? Mine already has the fuel saver light. I was just wondering if there were any other benefits? I just had it in monday too.

Cjdtautotech: after the flash update did you have to go into setup and turn (check) the fuel saver option to get it to work? Someone on another forum said he just had his computer flashed (updated) and he still has no fuel saver light. If it needs to be selected within setup, this may be his problem.

yes they will its more then just a light update its a update on the mds for smoother enagament also idle quality and other issues

MDS transitions have been enhanced from V8 to V4 and V4 to V8 in all ambient
temperatures and operating ranges. These enhancements were made to make the
transition less noticeable to the customer.

quick question. could i print out that last post, and cut out the information only and take it in to the dealer to show them exactly what im talking about?
