I remodel kitchen and bathrooms, if I screw up your cabinets or your plumbing would you call me back? Yes, it gets boring for me too, but the customer is spending there hard earned money for me to perform and thats exactly what I give them. There is no excuse period.

Human error is fine, and happens. However, car builders with less problems per unit are the ones with better processes designed to prevent human error. With Fiat's help Dodge is improving its lines attempting to improve build quality, but the plants leading the way in compliance are those in Mexico and Canada. Its not even the workers, or where its built, its all about process. The Subaru Legacy is built in Indiana and has extremely good defect numbers, the Toyota Camry is also built in the same plant, the units built there have lower defect's than those built elsewhere.

Assembly lines are boring and repetitive, but process improvement, tolerances and pride will reduce defects. I don't think its uncalled for to expect this from a $50k vehicle, when it can be done on a $20k vehicle.

Called and told dealer about the leak last monday. They said the next appt. was in a week!!! took it in yesterday, didn't here from them, finally l called today and they said it was the third brake light, and it looks like they just put black silicone around it.l still think its the satelite antenna because of the way the headliner just above it was wet. They refused to replace any interior parts, seat rug etc.,because they said they didn't see it when it was wet, thats because l had to wait a week for an appt!! and they didn't even offer to clean it,to get the funky smell out.So l started my phone calls to Dodge customer service today.Bolts under the seat are already starting to rust! Just waiting for the mold to start growing.Suppose to rain tonight and tommorow so l'll see if its wet tommorow. Then l'm driving it right up there while its still wet. Then its off to see a Lemon Law attorney. And yes l sucked AT least a gallon of water out with my shop vac.

I feel your pain! I had my headliner replaced due to a body shop cutting it with a part they stored in the back seat. They said the rear window had to come out to get the old headliner out and the new one in. After the third time I took it back because the back window kept leaking after they took it out, they finnally replaced the whole back glass.

They had cut the rubber that is molded into the glass and the glass man said it would always leak so they had to buy me a new one, along with a headliner, headlight, seat cover, seat belt cover and power window cables. I took my truck to them to get a hood painted and installed for $600 dollars. They wound up spending $3000 dollars replacing what they messed up. Hope your situation gets better.

They are somewhat right. The issue you have right now is not really with Dodge, but a crappy dealer. Should Dodge step in and call the dealer? Sure, will they, probably not. I am fortunate to have a good dealer, although my last expeience was not the best I know when I go back they will make it right. It is not costing the dealer anything, they back charge Dodge.

Auto interiors are not like household stuff. Its made to get wet and dry out. If headliner is stained I'd want that replaced but unless there is a REAL issue with seat covers and carpet I'd leave well enough alone. You'll create MORE issues. If YOU were paying for the repair you would not replace seat covers and such. They need DSM,REP approval. Not the G.M of the dealer ship.Headliner is EASY to replace. Can do it while you wait.About a hour long job.Hard to keep clean handling it is the biggest issue. The LEAST you can do to a vehicle in a repair the better off you are.Thats ANY vehicle. The KISS method.Keep it simple stupid. My 1998 1500 third brake light leaked a couple years back.Filled my rear storage trays full of water ec.I bought a new light, comes with the seal.Old one was falling apart.I added a THIN film of clear silicone and installed.Dried out trays with rags and let the rest dry on its on.Water left no evidence of being in the truck. I have handled folks that demanded replace this and that and it just never ends as it gets taken apart and back together.
