I think the reason it's "bad" to have HID's on Quad's is for the headlight "flash" system.

When you pull back on the stalk to flash your brights (someone cuts you off lol), it turns on your high beams and shuts off your low beams. Then, it'll take a few seconds for your HID's highs to warm up, and while you do this, your HID lows cool off.

Basically, your "flash" system has become compromised.

If you drive for extended periods with your high beams on, I don't see an issue at all, since they will warm up and stay on.

I have the quad lights with HIDs and my low beams stay lit when I turn on the highs. The fogs turn off but not when using the "flash to pass" you're speaking of.
