I drive a construction line truck (big bucket truck) 6-12 hours a day. Getting into a tiny car isn't my idea of fun.

Insurance at least over here is way cheap on the truck than on small throw away cars, because in an accident doesn't take much to total them but a pickup well they hold up better, cost less to fix. I had a Sebring we paid almost 2000 a year for insurance, the car was only 30 g sticker, this truck is 45 g sticker and can cause way more damage but the insurance dropped by 700 a year.

Basically what the post that was removed said, just not as diplomatic. The part about American made. Keep us informed about recalls and mileage and stuff about the Versa I for one would honestly like to hear and I am not trolling or whatever. I am curious about quality of Nissan I hear they have been suffering lately.

I wanted to buy American, but there is nothing that was in that price range that I wanted.

I don't want to get into it, but remember, there are no more 100% "American" cars any more. A Nissan is much less American I know, but to buy a Ram you are sending some of your money to Mexico and Canada. But like I said, I don't want to get into it.

I don't blame you, american small cars still suck. We spent a lot of time test driving the offerings from the american brands and wound up with a pair of Kias (Spectra 5 and Sorrento). For the lower priced end of the market, there is no comparison with ford/chev/dodge/etc.

Good Luck with your Versa, and your Flight School and your Home buying and Family and all.
We've all enjoyed your participation in this forum (sometimes good info and sometimes as a "launching point" for lively discussions), and if you get a chance to drop in every so often... (We'll all enjoy a reminder of what we get with our trucks versus small econo-cars... ;p )

Well since my truck was built in Warren Mi. I would say no money went to Mexico as part of the assembly, I don't doubt some parts...mainly wiring came from there,
As far as I am concerned I hope all the money comes to Canada. What is wrong with Canada as it stands right now Canada is probably selling the bulk of cars that Chrysler sells right now....Minivan which saved Chrysler once already and the Charger, Challenger and 300.
