Dealers Suck
Spec your truck. Go and find your best deal on the internet for it. CarMax are good for Chryslers, don't know if they have any new Dodge dealerships though.
Then go to the brick & mortar dealership. Let them go through their dog & pony show, and come up with a number (expect this to be higher than your target price). Then (and only then) pull out your sheaf of research, and tell them the deal you want. If they don't want to deal at that price (and it is their call), walk. Go and buy it off the other guy. At least you will have had the chance to drive the truck on their dime.
If there's just not $90 to give in the deal, why should a sales manager let his stock go out the door at a marginal loss, when he can sell the truck to the next mug for a $500 profit? The sales manager does not care one jot about profit in oil changes and other ancillary stuff. He is judged on sales performance, nothing else, and he will be single minded in that. His job depends on it.
Ever noticed how the service guy wants to build a personal relationship with you, like the sales guy does? It's because they get rewarded on their performance too, just like the sales guy. Individual profit centers. It's also why a lot of dealers close their body shops, it's just not as profitable as it was, and means carrying head count. Bad business? No. They're still in business and making money.

It's been known in the past that the bad guys steal a vehicle and "ring" it by stamping a fictitious VIN into it. It's much easier to do that than change all the windows.
In Europe, the "tag" stays with the vehicle for life (mostly), not the owner. Thus the practice is to etch the tag number into the window, because changing tag is an easier way to ring vehicles.
However, as technology moves on, it's harder and harder to ring vehicles (a good thing).

When you have that etching done its not only the glass they mark every part so that they are useless on the black market. Most of your parts are marked and if there is evidence of some type of removal then you should wonder where those parts came from and do you want them on your car? You get an insurance break sometimes depending on your company. The more theft retardents the better the discount. Factory alarms and etching can get u up to 15 percent savings unfortunately not at my insurance company.
Ah, I guess I don't much care what happens to the truck if it gets stolen. Insurance co would write me a check and I'd move on.
Auto theft isn't really a problem where I live anyway so it's not too suprising I never heard of it. Even someone breaking into a vehicle is uncommon.
