So, they move 10,000$ on the price of an awesome brand new truck and you can't take it because of 90$?

Go find another vehicle that a dealer will move 10K$ on. (I'll save you some time, you can't.)

I think most people are missing the point of the original posters comment. It wasn't the $90. It was the fact that the dealer was jerking him around over $90. I can appreciate that. I bought a truck from Flemington Dodge in New Jersey, by fax as I am 8 hours away. I signed the buy sheet, the salesman signed it, I signed a credit card authorization form for the deposit, the deal was done, and all I had left to do was fax the proof of insurance the next day. They sent me the signed buy sheet by fax again, this time adding $197 "processing fee" with a cute little note saying "Sorry, forgot the processing fee". First of all, they do this for a living so they didn't "forget it". More importantly, the $197 processing fee was already part of the total price on the buy sheet. I crossed it out and sent it back saying I would only pay it once, and then I didn't hear back from them that day. Two days later they sold the truck to someone else because I "balked at the processing fee which we have to charge".

I wasn't balking about paying the processing fee, I was balking at paying it twice. When I asked them to make it right they basically told me to go **** myself. Seriously.

I guess this would make Flemington Dodge one of those dealers that isn't so good... LOL

Had I agreed to paying the $197 processing fee twice, I am guessing they would have come back with "Sorry, forgot to charge destination.. $900" or some other charge they wanted to double.

It wasn't the money. Heck the truck I ended up buying was $7000 more. It was the principal. They lied to me, then tried to screw me, then told me to get lost. After all that I didn't feel like handing them a big check.

Maybe it's just me... ?

Default well

So after talking to a few more dealers, i found a dealer that would match their offer. They would be taking that truck off of the first dealer and swapping it with one on their lot. They were even going to be throwing in a bug deflector and gave me a $500.00 credit to use in their parts department. So i think i did quite well for myself on that end. Once i get my truck i am going to pull it right in front of the first dealer and bring my sales sheet to him and show him what a real dealer will do for me. HAHA

Sure you can. Employee price discount + rebates is well over $10,000. Come to Indiana next time you want to buy. They sell EP to almost everyone around here. We have 4 Chrysler plants so there are plenty of employees with control numbers.

You can find another vehicle, as in not a Dodge Ram, that a dealer will move 10k$ on?

Used to happen all the time, you go make your deal. When you go pick it up you have to sign more papers and all of a sudden you monthly payment is a couple bucks higher. Why? Oh we put on a bug deflector and a bed liner....I didn't want that. Or running boards or like you said a fee of some type. Now when I buy I tell them up front on the first day. When I come back to pick this up, if there is any change that I have not agreed to prior to coming in I will cancel the deal. Just be upfront with me chances are I will agree to your fee. I just don't like parts added on then the have to be taken out then screw holes so you have to make them put new parts on then they just say we will leave the bug deflector on or whatever it is. I call before I go now and talk to them and ask the numbers before I go. One dealer still tried adding stuff on.

It depends what the EP discount is. Just ask your dealer to see the invoice. It is in the center near the bottom just says EP with with 5 numbers. Rams, Dakotas, Durangos, Grand Cherokees, Commanders are the most discounted to employees and they usually have the highest rebates also. Here is an example of an invoice from my 04 Grand Cherokee I used to have. The employee price is $4638 less than sticker and you get all rebates also. On this vehicle they had $6500 in rebates when I got it so I got $11,138 off sticker. Just an example.
