I just wish the unit did Bluetooth stereo audio like the Ford Sync units have. That would be the ticket for streaming Pandora from my Blackberry. No wires!

Mine worked fine up to a couple of weeks ago. I'm due for an oil change, I'll just have them check it out along with checking for that thump in the rear that sounds like a ball is rolling in the bed, the trans disengagement at highway speeds, and maybe my seat cover that was ordered in July might be in.

I was having problems with my razor disconnecting a lot. I went to the mygig site and did the latest software rev and the problem disappeared.

I have a Canadian 09 Dakota (Laramie) with the REQ faceplate. Do you know the UConnect set-up in this model? I would like do the upgrade myself but am not sure where to start.

Thanks.

Try removing your battery from your phone then repair with the u connect. That happened to me with my Samsung, but the Motorola Tundra hasn't disconnected in 6 months.

Default UConnect

So, what is required to activate the UConnect on the REQ radio package. The buttons are all there and I assume I would need to either replace the mirror with a mic unit or get a remote mic attachment.

My vehicle is an '09 Dakota with the Laramie Pkg grp. It seems to be a bit of an anomaly in Canada so I am still unsure what options are actually available on this set-up.

Thanks. GTFA

Yes you would need some type of external mic.

I believe this is true for the REN. Reading the ugly details about how hard it is to swap an REN (non-nav) for an RER (Nav), one of the main issues in the upgrade is U-Connect. The RER actually has the UConnect module built in to the radio, so as part of the upgrade, one of the two UConnect modules needs to be disabled as you can't have two UConnect systems in a single vehicle.

Does anybody have issues with some phones not hanging up when you drop the Bluetooth connection? Same truck different phone, no problem. However, the HTC Touch Pro 2 refuses to hang up (basically it sits in my cup holder continuing to let the other person listen to everything going on in the truck until I remember to pick it up and hang up, at which time the Bluetooth connection comes back up, silences the radio and sits there with a blank screen even though the phone isn't doing anything). I have the REN (Non-Nav) radio with the latest MyGig release. However, I have tried pairing the same phone in a friends truck (same year), though he has the RER (Nav) head unit with built-in UConnect module, and it works flawlessly.

Does anyone else have issues hanging up after a call??
