Default 2010 RamBox

Does anyone know when the 2010's with the RamBox will start showing up at dealerships? I tried the search function but couldn't find an answer.

I am looking for a new truck and have narrowed it down to the F150 and the 1500 Laramie. I'm currently in a 2008 Titan Crewcab LE. It was an "early" 2008 that I picked up in July of 2007 and it was my second Titan (had a 2004 Crew LE). I really have no complaints about the Titan, I just really like what I'm hearing about the new Ram.

One of the major selling points over the F150 is the RamBox. I am a volunteer firefighter and can't think of a more perfect way to store my gear than in the RamBox. Since RamBox was a "late availability" option on the 2009's, I just figured they would start the 2010 model year with the option. Was it a supplier issue?

I have a Ram box 2009, I was VFD many years ago, the storage would be really good for bunker gear. As for as the 2010's I would think they would be showing up. I bought mine at the end od Febuary 09, bought it sight unseen ?

Any regrets about buying the Ram?

I read they closed the production in St Louis and moved it to Warren so it takes a little time to retool the Warren plant, hence the delay.

I never owned a dodge before, bought mine Feb-28-09 Just turned 38,000.. I have the hemi, with 3:21 R.End slt with a lot of opitions. I wanted the chrome bumpers, not painted. I have Premium buckets cloth, center console shifter , ram box. I use the divider in the bed a lot. I in and out of my truck a lot, I thought the cloth would hold up better than leather?

No problems yet, just recalls. I get good mileage for a big truck. I tow a pontoon 3800 #'s . I'll be changing the plugs soon .
The rambox works really good for me. If I had a crew cab with a std box, then installed a tool box in the back . I have more room with the rambox . But like I said I work out of mine .

This was my understanding also. I know only the St. Louis plant (now closed as part of the restructuring) was capable of producing the Ram Box models, so they needed time to move the tooling and get it back up and running to make them for the 2010 model year. The Ram Box is a great option. I have gotten nothing but compliments even though I do point out it does take up some bed room. I would not have bought the truck without it. It has hidden Christmas presents from the kids as it's most recent merit.

I bought mine "sight unseen" after participating in Ram Driving Experience some 6 months earlier.
My idea was to store Tire Chains and Tie Downs and Utility Gear that were displaced from under the Rear Bench by the Subwoofer.
I was also thinking to store ATV gear in it when only hauling single machine and not the whole trailer. Only problem - an adult helmet won't fit in (no way / no how)...
Well, that can sit on the floor of the back seat while everything else fits in the RamBox.

So it truly is "weatherproof"? No moisture or anything? My Titan has a small storage compartment on the driver's side behind the rear wheel that is supposedly "weather resistant" but collects so much moisture, sand, etc. from the road that I can't store anything in it.

To the others, thanks much for the info on the plant closure. Hopefully they will be shipping some of these soon.

Dry and snug...
You do need to make sure that the doors are 100% closed - they have full rubber seals like a car trunk...
