I have started running 15 to 20 psi in my bags all the time and I don't notice a clunk at all with mine. And at 15 psi I don't notice any difference in ride quality

The older airlift bags were shorter with larger spacers.

I didn't know they changed the design. So the new Air Lift bags are taller with smaller spacers? Are they small enough to fit through the coil without having to take the coil out? If this is the case, I think I am going to order a new set. After taking out my old ones they are warped and indented from the coil. I would have to get them in there and line them up exactly the same.

Yes, the new ones can be done without taking the spring out. Just make sure you don't get some that have been sitting on the shelf somewhere for a long time. FWIW, mine were packed on 01/03/11 and are the newer style.

i have the old style .. i installed them in early '09 .. i also have the horrible clunk .. mainly on drivers side . makes me sick .. but i'm leaving them in .. maybe ill do the hockey puck mod one day when i have time .

I also get a clunk from the back of my seats and or seat belt system.
One noise is from the steel latches/cams that keep the rear seats from falling down during hard braking if your seats are folded up. They are located at the hinge and appear to be stainless steal. When i hit bumps, i get a clunky tink when they vibrate around in the hinge. I hate that .. also i get some kind of knocking noise from the rear seat belt retraction system . somewhere up top behind the plastic panel ..

i hate extra noises and this truck is starting to **** me off when it comes to noises ...

Just finished installing the new and improved bags in my truck. Took a whole 45 minutes doing it by myself. Took me about 3 hours to install the old style, having to take the coil spring right out. A few weeks ago I installed the Firestone bags on my father in laws Avalanche. The new Air Lifts are exactly the same as the Firestone bags now. Those of you with the old style, I highly recommend spending the $100 or so and getting the new style. In my opinion it is well worth getting rid of that annoying clunk, drove me nuts.
