And the next time I go back to the stock tune and reinstall the quicktune, does my rev lim, speedo, and MDS disabled come back with it? Or will I have to add those settings again? EDIT: I just took it out on the highway and second to third is around 5900...that seems to be good shift point but I may try 6000. However, I think first to second 6200 is cutting it a little close. It feels like torque is just about to fall off so I think 6100 would be better for me so I'll change that tomorrow and try it. I'm going to leave the rest like it is for now, it"s good enough for me...props to SC for all the hard work and a flawless update!
I found 1-2 at 6000 is almost perfect for my truck, 6100 for the 2-3. We both have similiar configutations (RCSB). I initially set 1-2 at 6200 but, like you, found that a tad too far, it seems to have more oomph into 2nd at the 6100 point.

BTW...I've had this tuner for a while but was waiting to hit 36k (I'm at 29k) and changed my mind when torque management came out. I haven't updated the tuner in almost two years. When I finally did, 6200 rpms from first to second came with SC 91 tune. Anyway, I'm at 6100 from first to second and 6000 from second to third now. But I haven't been fast enough to try third to fourth yet, my guess for a sweet spot would be around 5900...have you? Also I see you're running the 93 tune, have you tried the 91 tune and if so can you tell the difference? I haven't tried the 93 tune with the new TM yet because it's been too hot to mess with it but I'll try to get to it this weekend.

What new TM are you talking about? I have used 6 percent at all full and part shifts since 09. Also, when did they add more options to include the 3-4 and 4-5 shift points? I dId update tuner a couple months ago and do not recall this.

First of all, I'm mad at you...you made me go back and read all this crap again to refresh my memory, lol! My truck was built on 2/11/09 and took possession on 3/5/09 and had been praying for a tunner ever since. Having watch you guys go through all the dissappointments with your Diablo tunners, I decided to patiently wait. You were one of them, you had a Diablo in 2009 and purchased your SC in March of 2010 so how could you have had this tune in 2009, lol? I bought my SC 3865 in early Aug 2009 when I first found out about a new 2002 Dakota tune. My neighbor and I tuned the truck and it's been shelved on my PC ever since with no updates. It was working well and we left it alone and lost interest. That was until the SC 2009 Ram tune came out in Feb (my trucks bday/anniversary)2010. Again, how could you have a SC TM tune in 09, he he? And again, I watched everyone go nuts or into a frenzy when Silshemi let the news out and started this thread, lol! My truck had low miles on it then and with 29k on it now, and at the time was slated to get RRT updates that I procrastinated. That along with a tranny fluid change/rearend....and ironing out SC 09 Ram TM and update issues...and originally wanting to wait till 36k miles is why I took so long to finally take the plunge. I'm probably one of the first to have the 3865 and the last to install it..oh well, lol! I can certainly understand you confusing your dates, I do the same thing but had the help of this thread to fall back on. The biggest thing that caught my attention was the last update, 510 to 513 or something like that. I think it was about fixing the problem with some not being able to get to 6200 rpm shifts. It sounded to me that the tuner was finally bug free and it is. If I mess things up it would be human error which of course can be fixed with a simple SC reflash to stock. And I didn't say that there was a third to fourth shift point but assumed there was but forgot...I remember reading about that. I've been reading this thread over and over since it was started and TM was not there when it first came out but don't remember when it did. What also got my attention was when the pay tune came out for the transmission. I couldn't do the free tune with the code because it was still tuned to the Dakota at the time. As we speak, I'm just getting the feel of tuning my truck and I'm at everyones becon call...I know nothing and have done nothing but a 91 SC tune, lol!

Ya, this post from sils is what got me interested in the SC. My truck is a Dec 08 build date, bought it in beginning of Feb 09, thought I got the SC at end of 09... so I'm a couple months off !! And I did luck out and get the custom trans tuning option for no charge. I ended up staying with carguyohio's posted schedule settings with a couple minor tweaks, a real noticeable difference and great for the daily driver but it sure takes a while to keep playing with settings. That latest calibration released - v510 I think I loaded - did give a firmer shift at WOT, definately worth the update but I have been happy with this tuner from the start. Only complaint is it hunts for first gear when you nail it from about 30 mph at temps below 30 degrees. It did this before the trans tuning was installed and I do not think I have tried it since using this custom trans schedule and in cold temp again. Maybe this v510 update fixed that as well.

Good luck playing with the tune, I will never go back to stock with this setup. And MDS really kills the overall performance feeling of the truck,

Actually, it was the new TM "update" and video that Silshemi posted showing the 6200 rpm shift that really got me interested in trying it sooner than planned. I'm really bad at getting my point across so that was my fault...sorry for the confussion. That was my only update since installing the tune in the Dakota around Aug 09. I was under the impression that the latest 3.0 software is the 513 version so I'm a little confused now but it matters little. While all is great (not just good), it would be nice if you could see the driver or software version in SC properties...such as 510 or 513. Anyways, I hope your custom trans tune fixed your previous probs. I have faith in this tuner and beleive it will so good luck with that. I haven't purchased the tune yet but will as soon as this heat wave passes, lol! I'm not messing with it in this kind of weather without an airconditioned garage...it takes too much time, lol! I'm hoping it's cool enough to play with the SC 93 tune this weekend. But hey...I look at it this way, Silshemi gave us a good year of documented schooling and it ain't going anywhere soon. So there's plenty of time to play with this thing and there's no rush. BTW...are you still at 6% TM and are you running the 93 tune? And have you tried the 91 and if so can you feel the difference between the two, thanks!

I'm at 6 percent TM for all the settings and 93 tune. We have Sunoco fuel stations everywhere here, 93 octane is easy to get so I have only used it and cannot speak on 91. Actually I think now I found the perfect setup for this truck so have no plans on changing anything. If you're serious on the trans tuning, download a few of the excel spreadsheet sample schedules posted, so you have them when ready. Some are pretty aggressive but there are some good choices to start with. And as far as max shift rpm, curious as to what you think on 6200 1-2 shifts compared to 6000. I think 6000 is about the sweet spot for my setup, especially with the TM at 6 percent since it hits 2nd harder and keeps pulling good, did not really see any benefit of 6200 so it wasn't worth the additional beating on the hemi.

I agree, it falls of at 6200 with almost no torque left for second. I'm at 6100 going into second right now but may try 6000 because it makes better sense as you describe it. It's not too bad at 6100 though, I have some torque going into second but I'll try 6000. It sure does make some serious screaming and power down shifting at 40 mph now. I have 93 oct all over here too, we make it in the plants (Sulpur Industries) close by. I wanted to start at 91 to see if I could feel the comparisons of the two. I like the sound of 6% TM also so I'll try it when I get the tune, maybe I'll get it tomorrow, thanks!

Default Has anyone updated to 3.20.11: ?

I did my first 93 quick tune today and couldn't access anything but tire size, idle, and tire pressure in advanced options. Checked SC site and I noticed a new update to 3.20.11: so I downloaded it. But after the download it still has the same old 3.00.0001 software. I added SC to my firewall and lowered my internet security as well. I tried the download several times each time deleting the old one and still ended up with the same 3.00.0001. I tested the tune from a 30 mph roll and my tires were breaking loose on and off all the way through and a little in sec till I shut it down, didn't do that on the 91 tune...awesome! But still, I'm limited to the advanced features...anyone have any idea why I can't access everything and why the update won't go through? EDIT: Update, I'm trying to update it on another computer. In the mean time I tried the second to third gear shifts and I saw or felt no power gains, but not sure. I checked the performance/shifting at a few different speeds and at one point my tranny was missing out, lol! It was bumping like bump, bump, bump, bump...didn't feel like it was hurting anything and it only did that once. I'm gonna cal SC while this thing is downloading because it looks like it aint working. Update: I returned it to stock tune, did the update and it went through. Tuned it back to 93 and all is good, ha ha!
