Ok, I'm gonna be the kid in class who raises his hand, asks the dumb question and gets laughed at. How do you determine the polarity of a vehicle's electrical system? I'm a simple kind of guy I figure red wire = hot, black wire = ground. I never thought too much about which way those silly little electrons wanted to flow. Seriously though, is it safe to assume that all 09+ Rams have reverse polarity or is this a hit or miss sort of thing?

I dealt with this on the first car I ever put HIDs on. I connected everything up and the bulbs didn't light up. Refered to old Manuel and he said, in very bold print at the bottom, some vehicles may have reverse polarity simply switch leads. So, I switched leads and wouldn't you know it, it worked. Never thought about it again. I always assumed it was a silly Mazda thing that I would never see again. Silly me.

Ok I was just curious about that. I found a set of 5k 55w on ebay and it got me thinking. I thought someone a few years ago told me that standard is 35w and if you go to 55w you can melt your wiring harness. I guess i was looking for a way to do my fogs a cheaper way. I think if I do them I will just do the same as the low beams. No point in being stingy on the fogs. If I do it, I better just do it right.
