Mr. Hemi killed another Ford
Let me first state for the record that I do not advocate street racing, but sometimes other drivers push your buttons and you have to take care of business. Case in point, my wife and I were on our way home from Walmart when a late model Mustang GT (02/03) with a nice sounding exhaust was showing off. At the next light, he launched hard and proceeded to cut us off, this made Mr. Hemi (and the wife too) mad. We both caught the next light and I asked the wife if I could teach this young Mustang driver a lesson, to my surprise she said yes!! The Mustang driver must have been texting or something because I got a big jump off the line. I had my windows down and I could hear him furiously power shifting trying to catch me. I was pleasantly surprised how my 09 CC Hemi w/3.21's pulled away in 1st and 2nd gears, when we hit 3rd I could see him start to close the 3/4 car length gap. It was probably a little over a 1/8 mile race and we caught the next light. The Mustang dude was furious, he just got owned by a big *** 4 door truck! He was revving his engine looking for a rematch, but my wife wagged her finger at him and gave him the no, no sign. Anyway traffic was picking up and our turn off was coming up. We turned and waved off, but the Mustang dude dropped the clutch and left the light burning rubber, I guess he was still mad! Lesson learned, don't under estimate your Hemi, I love my truck!

The Mustang loser would be be the first to tell you a kill's a kill though.
right on! if thats the case, then last night I killed a Dodge Journey at a red light, I murdered a Kia Soul at a stop sign, I injured a 88 civic in reverse at walmart and finally put the nail in the coffin again my neighbor's 91 chevy while backing out this morning.
thanks, I had NO IDEA i could be this good!

Without writing a freaking book and for those with slow reading comprehension skills, I pointed out the fact that the Mustang was showboating first. This guy was dropping the clutch at several lights before I gave him a taste of his own medicine. He was trying real hard to catch up, so yes we were defiantly drag racing!! Any one who goes to the track knows that it is all about reaction times, you snooze you loose end of story! Yes this is another Ram vs Mustang thread, I can't help it that there are only a million of them cruising around my neck of the woods. FYI, I have an Magnaflow muffler and K&N drop in filter, it helps get the big guy off the line. Contrary to popular belief, the 3.21's are not that high of a gear. My truck is a little soft off the line but it just about hits 60 mph before shifting to 2nd and it has a hell of a sweet spot when you kick it down on the highway, but I would love to get some 3.92's or 4.10's with an LSD some day!! Anyway I just wanted to share the experience, like it or not it happened. The wife and me thought it was cool, especially the look on the dude's face!!
