Help! Which truck?

Hi all. I'm considering buying a dodge slt crew 4x4 and am at a crossroads in my decision. Here are my choices (both are slt crew cabs and 4wd):
2010 Slt
Pros: free hemi upgrade and it's a lone star package, great deal after incentives, and it's available in my first color choice.
Cons: 5yr powertrain warranty (I won't even come close to 100k in this time)
now my other choice
A hard to find 2009 (not lone star package)
Pros: color is my second choice (silver) and lifetime powertrain warranty (if this was offered for the 2010 it would be a no brainer), price is very nice
Cons: 4.7 engine is about the only con I can think of and only because the 2010 will have the hemi.
The truck I buy is one I hope to keep for at least 6-8 years which is why the lifetime warranty for the 09 is soo attractive. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks!

No kidding! Those are great incentives! I'm still questioning my deal. I don't know how some people are getting 10k plus off of sticker but the best I could get my dealer to do was about 5k off of a sticker price of 42670. I'm sure that the fact that my truck hasn't even hit the lot might have something to do with this. I've been to other dealerships and they could do better but their trucks were not what I wanted (it seems you have to 'settle' for their choice of truck for these deals). In the end I know I may not be getting the deal of a century but it will be the truck I want. If anyone has some last minute advice before I sign my contract I would appreciate it.

My Fiancee has worked for a Ford and Dodge dealership in the recent past(1-2 years ago) how it works is this, when a vehicle gets on the lot(new or used) the clock starts ticking. As time go's by, the dealership becomes more flexible in terms for a vehicle that has been on a lot a longer period of time than vehicles that have been on the lot a shorter period of time. Now as far as a vehicle that you order the way you want it, you have a lot less bargaining power because you're getting something that you are customizing to your liking.Hope that helps.

As time go's by, the dealership becomes more flexible in terms for a vehicle that has been on a lot a longer period of time than vehicles that have been on the lot a shorter period of time. Now as far as a vehicle that you order the way you want it, you have a lot less bargaining power because you're getting something that you are customizing to your liking.Hope that helps.

Here in Canada, the teaser was the $28000 4WD SXT QC with 4.7 engine. I tried a couple of them out, but they just didn't grab me. After perusing the brochure, I ended up ordering a Hemi sport with pretty much every option. It's a long way from 28K!
Bottom line: I feel good about my decision buying what I WANTED instead of what was a "bargain".
The clincher for me was the quad cab layout. You get acceptable back seat accessibility and comfort but with a reasonable box length. I for one will use the extra box length far more often than I would use a gigantic back seat.
BTW, has anyone else noticed that the Dodge Quad cab layout is the most "balanced" of all the 4-door trucks? To me, ANY crew cab looks too "fat" in the middle with too "stumpy" of a box.

I do like the quad cab layout and if wasn't for my daughter and family that's probably what I would have ended up with- but only to save some $$$ as I actually prefer the look of the crew cab. I really wish the crew cab would at least have the option for the longer bed (like Ford does for the 6.5' bed).

Just too long to be practical in the city.
