Dealership issue, being a baby or Valid point.
Just to play devils advocate, you pretty much need either a cube truck or flatbed if you are going to pick up a bedliner without immediately installing it. (I'm assuming he's talking about the 1 piece plastic type).
I guess a lot more people than I would think care about 30 miles getting put on their truck.

My god dude, go kick that **** in the *****. I totaly agree, no buddy drives my truck, especialy for something stupid like that. And you can bet the stupid kid was pedal to the metal the whole way. Sounds like you had your typical Dodge service depatment experience, it won't be your last. When I go in, I am preparred to tell the service clerk what is wrong with the truck, or what it needs. I don't know where they find the people to work there, they don't know the first thinnk about a motor vehicle, maybe they hire the guys who can't get a job selling cars, so they sell service. I'm pretty sure they are told to be idiots to make the dealership more money.
But come on, yes a 40 lbs liner can be picked up in anything, you ever see how the piles of liners show up at the dealers, a big roll of them.
I just bought my new ram 6 weeks ago, sales man ended up getting me to leave the lot in less of a truck that I originaly wanted, so after humming and hawing for 4 weeks, I told them I wanted the right truck. Good on them, they are taking this 1 back and the new 1 should be here in a couple of days. But I did have to tell them how to do it, play dumb and maybe the customer won't know we're screwing him.
Love the product, hate the dealer.
Oh by the way, check out your rights as a new vehicle buyer, and tell the salesman/owner that it would really suck for them to loose a star from there dealer ship rating. 5 star dealers get there stock cheaper, and get paid higher warranty repair rates, that's huge to them.

Find the general manager of the dealership, he should offer you some compensation. If you get nowhere with him call Chrysler. At times like this do you think Chrysler wants any bad publicity? But when you do talk to these individuals remain calm, don't raise your voice to make a point, make a checklist of these items so you don't forget. You will make further inroads if you don't come off as a pissed off a$$hole, don't make threats either.
Ask whoever you do speak to if the dealership has a part truck, if so, why was my truck used as one? And how can a 30 mile round trip use a quarter of a tank of gas? How do I know? I topped it off before I dropped it off.
What do you want as compensation besides the correct parts installed, the scratch repaired, and your truck detailed? Will a full tank of gas make you happy? Do you want a refund of the cost of the extras and have them done at another dealership? They won't give you any money back, (dealers don't do that) so be realistic in what you want back.
Me, I've learned not to take a clean truck to the dealership, (it always comes back with a layer of dust on it and always a mystery ding, overspray, waterspots or a grease glob on the body somewhere), or with a full tank, (it's always on empty when I bring it in). The radio station can be put back easily, but do not leave the volume cranked up on a hip hop station so when I do turn the radio on it blasts me senseless and really pisses me off.
Good luck - I want to know how this turns out.

I know one does not have to do with dodge, but in Dallas I went with my oldest to buy a honda pilot. 2008 certified use car.. Made a good deal with sales, got to the finace guy. It was late and I wanted to come back, he insisted to proceed. The sales through in 1 yr oil change, ext. warranty for their cost[lol]. But the guy had a middleastern accent and the more he got mad, the more I did.
Long story short he did not believe on the oil/warranty, he wanted in writting.. its 10:30 p.m. now .. " are you sure he told you this" ...
Anyway i got home fired off a email, Next day owner called me and apoligized ... Free Lo jack and lowered the intrest to 6%
Rusty wallace honda ... Great dealer ...
Don't stand for no B.S. from these dealers

IMO, you have to deal with the owner of the dealership at some point. Let them know what his employees are doing, otherwise he may not know the crap going on in his own business. Owners want to push volume, volume, volume. More sales volume and more service volume. Used cars and trade-ins are a different story.
Maybe we should just leave some beer in there to wash down the burger and fries they're eating for their short and hurry up lunch while in our truck, lol! Or maybe to share with their friends that are riding in your back seat while doing burnouts and donuts or to celebrate their victory race, he he! Yeah... we should give them a brake, I mean...can you blame them for driving a 100 mph? You get 20 mpg when you drive the speed limit so a 1/4 tank of gas is pretty god for driving a 100+ mph, he he! They don't get much of a lunch brake as it is, and they have a life too...come on guys, he he! And who says they can't go home to eat lunch and maybe stop to pick up their kids from school on the way back! I mean... as long as they do it during their lunch hour, what's the big deal? Well...as long as they don't flip their cigarette ashes in your truck or burn a hole in your seat. The carpet would'n't be so bad because you probably wouldn't see it anyway. It's not their fault that you don't have an ashtray! Besides...I'm sure they'll do their best to hide and fix the burns, so... you probably won't even notice it anyway!
Mine is always looking like it just got detailed when I go in, then they seem to have more respect and under the hood is better than new thanks to my wife. When I go for an oil change I just stay in the truck since I am para...much easier besides good excuse to keep an eye on them. They always say...sweet truck. so clean, then you see them wiping things under the hood with a rag, its funny.
I hate leaving it, I always demand a walk around with a Service person and they give me a note that we went around and there are no dents scratches etc. They don't mind. I have even taken pictures off it in the service bay, picturres are dated. Love my truck hard to trust any dealer.
