Default Lockpick V 3

I emailed Coastal to see if they knew of any issues with the dealerships voiding warranty because of this installation of a Lockpick. He said that some dealerships in the US actually sell and install them. Has anyone heard of this before? When I asked for dealership names near where I am he said there were none but didn't even give me the name of the closest one, is what I would do. This is why is am a bit skeptical, not calling BS yes but.....I need someone to say something here.

Seriously that is what I was told. I have received answers to all my questions, short but sweet. I didn't even buy mine from them I bought one of those 189 dollar ones on ebay, come with all the cables for video and everthing they wanted 50 more dollars for the cables on Coastal site. It is a genuine V3 Lock Pick. I like some of the new features like usb updates, 12v power and acc supplies for other equipment. there is more.

I really want some of the features these offer, but after reading some of the horror stories on ********* and some other forums I've been skeptically apprehensive to purchase one.

It was said to be an issue with them not closing the loop on the CAN-BUS system and causing other electronic issues. If they could get the issue worked out I would definitely be up for one.

The price doesn't make the decision much easier

I told you my horror story about how I had to deal with their incompetence for a year. There were others on that thread talking about issues they had as well. This is what DereksRamRide is talking about.

Well i bought one from ebay from "titaniumcoupe" for 189 dlls with cables and a little backup camera for 30 dlls which i installed in the backdoor handle, i installed the lockpick myself because my delearship wanted about 200 dlls for them to install it, it was easy, took about 30 minutes, now i can watch movies, play video games, connect my ipod, look at the backside of my truck on the screen anytime, opened the VES option, installed usb cable to lockpick for future upgrades, i am really happy...

Cool same place I bought from...but I am putting the front cam too. Did you take any pics of how you wired it PM me I will send you my address if you have nice big clear pics. I am curious on how to wire the VES like if you hook up something to it you watch and listen to it on the head unit? I was thinking of extending all the cables that might have future use into one of the glove boxes.Looking for ideas.I am basically just getting it for cams but I like the extra 12V and 12V ACC connections up to 2.5amps. There is an update on the page already did you do it? On the Coastal page.

72combo,

DO NOT buy a lockpick. I pulled my hair out for almost a year having various problems with my truck with audio cutting out and i took my truck in multiple times and had 3 radios replaced to try and get this issue fixed. After combing through the threads here and talking to "Secret Agent Man" I discovered that it was the lockpick that was causing all my problems. I went with the NAV-TV ALLGIG-USB-HS like he recommended and all my issues were fixed and it even comes with a usb cable for future updates which the lockpick does not offer(which i ran into my glove box). Lockpick people are super nice if they think that they are going to get a sale out of you, after sale support - forget about it! I bought my lockpick on ebay and i sold it on ebay for a small loss. I would do the same if I were you.

Hi, i know its not been long, but had this thing inside my truck for about 2 months now and still no issues, 72combo, i do not have any pics since i did it really fast and never tought of doing a post about my install, the hardest part was getting the crome ring off the center console, everything else was really easy, its literally a plug and play unit, just set the dip switches on the lockpick to your situation, and follow instructions, i have not done any updates since the unit is working properly, i did take advantage of the 12 acc for the backup camera, i am sure if you take your time and read the instructions you will be fine, good luck
