Not defensive of them just you are one person. Some had issues with the older models and well if you got poor service from them I could imagine why. They have upgraded twice and well this one seems to be good, I haven't heard any issues other that the sat issue but that is most likely he pulled off the antenna. Gonna get started tomorrow the worst part is running the wires all the way from the back. I am defensive of Chrysler though if you must know. I think they are trying to do the best they can since the government's obviously wanted to make sure GM didn't go under. They put the commercial on bragging about paying their loan back well Chrysler did that when the minivan saved their butts. Paid off loans early. I think its hilarious the other car companies advertising talking to their radios to make phone calls and stuff in their fords...I do that daily in my RAM pickup. I do have issues with Chrysler they don't advertise the options. A luxury buick advertising a 40 gig hdrive....so I have had a 30 gig for over a year and they have been available since at least 07 in Chrysler and Dodge

This is a forum where people come to read about the experiences of others. It is always better to learn from somebody else's mistakes vs. learning from your own mistakes. That being said, every thread that comes up on the Lockpick, I try to articulate the utterly disastrous experience I had not only with their product, but with their customer service after the sale had been made. I do this not to be an a$$ but to give anyone who is potentially in the market for a Lockpick a synopsis of my experience with CoastalTec as a single data point to consider among many.

As I recall, the first thread I explained my ordeal, you chimed in saying that you thought it sounded like I had an attitude and that their customer service wasn't the problem. You sir did not live my experience and it was very presumptuous of you to make such an assumption. If you want to disregard my experience and go ahead and buy their product, that is your prerogative. You are also free to offer up information about your experiences with them whether they agree with or contradict my experience. Please though do not sit there and tell me that I am wrong about my assessment of the product quality and customer service I RECEIVED, especially when you are having issues of your own with them.

This is a forum where people come to hear about other peoples experiences so they can make a more informed decision. I will continue to inform people about my negative experience with their product and their service. Likewise you can feel free to sing their praises, but please make sure that it is objective. So far you have defended them a little too passionately without having even installed their product in your truck yet. I truly do hope that you have a better experience with them than I did, but this all remains to be seen. I respectfully wish you good luck sir.

Why thank you. I will get to it possibly tomorrow depending on weather would that be okay with you?

I don't work for Coastal I am in Canada. I just find them very helpful, helping me to dot my I's and cross my T's and make sure all goes well. I am sorry you had a negative experience and you are allowed to sing about it also. Who knows maybe I will be singing your song in a few days, I might be because I am not exactly happy with the cameras I bought. More like the wiring, seems like house wiring not automotive. I will change it out, don't want a camera issue to make the Lock Pick look bad.LOL. Oh the drama.
By the way I am impressed with your ability to write so eloquently. Very impressed. I am lucky if I remember punctuation. I am sorry that you had problems, and I hope I don't. We are all Guinea Pigs with these trucks and mods of this sort. Not like a snap on R/T badge.

Forgive me, but its hard to read tone on forum posts, but this comes across a little boorish. I will give you the benefit of the doubt and assume that you made this comment in jest. In such case, likewise in jest I give you permission to install your potentially defective product.

I've installed and uninstalled a Lockpick and they're really quite simple. The Allgig was just as easy. Even hooking up the wires to cameras with these units is pretty much plug and play. I decided to wire my Mopar backup camera the factory way where I had to cut splice and solder wires under the TIPM, which was much more difficult. I didn't want to have to rely on an Allgig or Lockpick unit being in the truck in order to use it though. To each their own. I think you'll find the installation procedure to be a non-event. The potential technical or quality issues with the product down the road and having to work with customer service to resolve it... That will be an event.

I have the lockpick V2 installed on my truck. When I first installed it I got the same audio dropouts that others have reported. It was really random, sometimes left speaker would go out, sometimes right, sometimes rear, sometimes in front. After tinkering around for a little bit I noticed the main plug that plugs the lockpick into the mygig wasn't getting seated right. Theirs no snaps that lock it into place so during drive vibrations caused it to shake and become unseated. What I did was take 2 zipties and tighten them on either side of the plug to really get a solid connection.

Haven't had a problem since, that seems to have solved the issue for me. If others are having similar audio issues I recommend giving it a try, hope this helps.

Maybe the V3 has solved this issue, if not give the zipties a try, they work wonders!

No I can see what you mean, it is actually the way the board fits inside the box it is not tight in there so I can see the main cord wiggling in and out. That wire tire idea was going to be part on my installation. . V2 really got pulled quick for the V3 which is like the Allgig in that it has a spot to put usb cord and me being a hoarder of electrical cords and such because even though you don't use it with what it came for sometimes they fit for what you need them for. Gonna just run the usb into the glove box. Thanks again for the wire tie tip.

The price doesn't make the decision much easier
$189 with the video cord that cost 50 bucks more at the place that makes them. Check out ebay the titaniumcouple . Now tell me what is wrong with that price and yes they are built by Coastal just they buy bulk get a good deal and pass it on. Is this what you mean?
