Default Getting power from the reverse lights?

I recently installed the recon reverse lights on my truck, and im not getting power to them when i put the truck in reverse. the toggle switch works only. i have a relay, that i think is bad, But my questions is. If i splice into the reverse wires ( white with a red stripe) i should get power uh? I know some splice into the 7 pin wiring harness for stuff like this, but i have done it already.

yeah you should get power, and its on a separate fuse than the 7 pin, I would use the 7 pin.
