Due dilligence is warranted at all transactions, any changes to order need investigating, buy your trucks on clear sunny days in the open and inspect with a fine tooth comb, can't bitch later, its a man made vehicle and all manufacturers have the same issue, some more than others.

ture rolltide,
but how many people will think about or actually have a drop in liner removed from a brand new truck on the lot before buying due to concerns about how the bed is painted? I have bought quite a few new vehicles and it would never cross my mind to check that.

Here is the deal. I used to work at warren truck. For a while I was in the paint dept. as a sander/polisher. If the truck had a lot of paint issues in the box we would code it to get a bedliner. Its far cheaper to throw a liner in it, than to blast the entire box, and repaint it. Most customers would not balk at getting a free liner for some imperfections in the box paint. Lets be honest, its a truck. The beds are made to be used. Its not like its the hood, or roof. I wish somebody would've given me a new line x for some bad box paint. That would save me the 450 I'm going to spend on mine.

It's obvious that's the case, but it's still crap. I'm also familiar with how things work at WTAP, and if they want to change public perception on their quality, they need to first change their ACTUAL quality. They've got to stop taking the easy way out....this is just one of many examples where that's been their m.o. for years.

I had perfect paint in mine and still put Line-x AND the rubber mat. Linex to protect it and the rubber mat to stop the sliding.. I also put a carpted LEER cap on.. all I need not is the mattress and mood lighting!

Default ok thanks guys but some of you are way off track here

this has nothing to do with me getting a free Line X, it has every thing to do with horrible quality and fraud. The vin sticker on the window said SOLD so they should have never let the truck leave the plant in this condition, I paid a huge deposit for this truck and paid it in full upon delivery. If I did this in my profession I would be out of business in a heart beat. This is my 6th truck from Chrysler in 7 years and my last, i dont really need a truck I could have bought any sport utility on the market I was looking at a Q7 audi but because of my disability I needed the truck for easy access. Also some said if I had pictures the deal took pics of the truck and sent them into Chrysler. Someone also said to buy trucks on sunny days....come on that is a bit crazy i live in Alberta we got snow on the last weekend of may when I took delivery of my truck...and yes I did look at it with a fine tooth comb in the detail shop but the liner was still in at this point. Remember my brother works here for a dodge dealer i have been having coffee with him 3 times a week for 15 years I have seen alot of stuff pass through his shop, he is in detail the best there is....so yes i did look at this truck before i took delivery of it. Use this for an example...lets say you commission me to do a life size sculpture of your daughter who passed away and while in the sanding process the sculpture falls off the table and breaks into many pieces, I take a case of epoxy and begin to glue the sculpture back together and I dont tell the customer who later finds out because eventually you will be able to see the cracks....I would never do this its not right but then again i have a conscious. Thanks for all your comments love this forum and I would probably buy another truck im just venting lol.

Where is the fraud? They give you something for nothing. 99.9% of customers would be, and have been happy with this. Once again we are talking about a pickup truck bed. Its made top be used, and abused. I for one don't see the issue. I think your statue example is a bit extreme. Its a pickup bed, get over it.

For those that complain about not fixing it right, they could, but that would cost more, and hold up the build process. Who do you think that bill gets passed on to? Like I said I'd take paint defects for a free liner anytime.

My huge deposit on my truck was 20 bucks. Deposits are a dealer issue, not corp. The huge part was the discount off of my truck (14k).

I agree....its just a truck bed, if you want an audi buy an audi...my friend with an s4 had clearcoat peeling within a year of ownership on his and thats a +60K luxury car. the audi dealership took care of it had his hood/roof repainted, the dodge dealer gave you a free spray in bedliner....quality control problems exist in all vehicles, its about how the company takes care of it....seems like you got taken care of....

again if you used your truckbed the way it was meant to be used....it would look 10X worse in a year. I had mine line-x'd because it had deep scratches and was starting to rust.....wish i could have saved the $450 and got it from the dealer....

It is just silly to repaint a bed in a truck....

If I ordered and it came with it, sorry it would raise a red flag to me, but if I bought it off the lot, no I wouldnt check under, again due diligence, and if the vehicle in general is okay, the bed paint is N/A especially with a liner and bedrug and tonneau. And yes I would be upset, but really all manufacturers are in the same mode right now.
