I've defended Chrysler a lot, but I can't believe how many of you are willing to let them off the hook for this. It's flat out the wrong thing to do. This kind of thought process(from within the plant) is a huge reason people look at them the way they do.

If that's the way they want to go about it, freaking make the spray in standard. What's a bedliner for anyways??? To protect the bed, right? If it's in crap condition, there isn't much to protect. Of course, there is something to cover up.

Yeah, every company has issues. But Chrysler has had more of them than most manufacturers for quite some time. This is the kind of junk that needs to stop.

I'm not saying this as a hater, I'm saying this as someone who REALLY wants them to get things turned around.

BLKSHEEP ordered a new 2010 ram sport and has every right to expect the rig delivered in NEW condition. It sounds like he is very particular about his vehicles and he’s the one that needs to live with it. It’s his business if he uses it as a work truck or never hauls a thing in the box and just cruses up and down the boulevard. He should have been advised about it upon delivery. To intentionally cover up a flaw and to pass it on to the unsuspecting buyer is just wrong. If the delivering dealer knew about the condition and didn’t advise him, shame on them too.

ok yes the act to hide the imperfection was wrong... agreed on that. however people usually buy a truck for it's working and hauling capabilities, that being said it's just a truck box, free line-x liner from dealer i'd be happier than a pig in mud, but people put box liners in so there's nothing to scratch and you're not looking at a scratched up box, really you're just repainting it in a sense anyways you can't take the line-x liner with you when you get rid of the truck. Moral of the story i'd say the dealership did their best to right the wrong.

Mine came with a plastic bedliner that wasnt ordered as well, I wouldnt doubt the paint on the bed is crappy since the rest of the truck's paint is pretty crappy as well.

I bought mine on a cold rainy night, my mistake, but other than crappy paint and key fobs that dont unlock at times I'm pretty happy with the thing.

Just lift up the back of the floor of the liner and have a look yourself. Could be they are having an issue with the painting of the floors so they figure a free box liner is easier than repainting the box? If so they should tell you up front . Those plastic liners a crap they just wear the paint off anyway. I already said that.
Well if you can get it repainted under warranty, or line xed or whatever you desire then it is just another warranty issue in my opinion because there is paint under there covering it and so many dealer just throw those in and charge you and most often people just accept them, I never did and always got them free. This is their temp fix I personally don't like it and I think they better work on the box painting problem. But if you are okay with a plastic box liner then as long as there is paint under there it will be worn down to he metal in a year or so anyway, it wont rust it will always just be bare metal until you park it for a length of time but I imagine it is galvanized floor anyway or it should be so it shouldn't rust.
This whole thing should be about looking at3 items: what you are buying before you accept it: also that is BS needing 2000 to order. I ordered vehicles 0 down at dealerships I have never bought a car at. You guys in the US really are getting beat up at the dealers. You should check into buying in Canada. I know when the money was a par for a bit a year or so ago there were Canadians buying new cars in the US because the prices didnt reflect the money exchange so they were saving a ton of money. Just a bit of customs BS and then safety check and since most vehicles all have the same emissions on them that is not an issue and because you can change your display to Metric then there is not much to do, I don't know the details but there were some huge savings.
3: The dealership is aware of this condition they should be up front with you. If you did not order it find out why it's there. Check your bill make sure its not hidden in the scribbling of the offset typing so things are on the wrong lines(my personal favourite).
Okay 4 Chrysler should have personally had a hand written letter to you when the truck arrived explaining the situation and options.

I looked under mine and the paint looks OK, yes they rub the paint off but I havent had any newer trucks rust (2001+) even when the paint rubs off. I have the original build sheets and order form for mine and nowhere does it say bedliner. Even the dealer mentioned they werent sure why it was there, but my old saying is 'if its free its for me' so I left it. I generally dont keep a truck more than 3 years anyhow, if it started to rust from the paint wearing off I would just line-x it..

I'll keep buying them in the states. My trucks sticker was 38230. On dodge.ca the same truck sticker was 40645. I think I'm good!

Default letter and email sent to chrysler

hey guys for those of you taking my side on this thank you, for those of you not on my side you should not let a company like this get away with doing stuff like this. Someone said trucks are meant to be used and abused well in my case this is just the opposite. If i need something moved i have trailers for this, flat deck enclosed or a dump trailer the only think I put in the back of my truck is my luggage, I have other vehicles to (use and abuse) if need be. When I sold my 2005 dodge diesel sport quad cab it only had 100k on it pretty low km's for a truck here in Alberta, most of these trucks in that year are around 150 160km. Yes i take pride in my trucks and when I pay for anything I expect it to be dam near perfect. This whole post was not about getting a free Line X(yes im happy they put it in) it was about trying to cover it up without mentioning a word to me. When I ordered this truck I put 25000 grand down and when it arrived I paid it in full, I didn't have to put a cent down as this is my 6th truck from dodge and I order my trucks right from the General manager of the dealership(we are good friends). Even he said he has never seen this done in 18yrs of working for dodge so he sent a letter to the ceo of quality care waiting to hear back. Again thank to the guys who actually understand what is going on here.
