Your "friend" is full of it. Perhaps no one has ever question the liner being their but all 3 of them have been doing this for years. By the way don't make a big deal about the down payment if it wasn't required. You paid cash, I went threw gmac at 4.25%. Either way to Chrysler and the dealer they got their money. Actually they would rather you did not pay cash.

Here is what it boils down to there was an issue, they "fixed" it. You didn't like the fix, and got another "fix" for it. I don't see the big issue here. Once again you got something for nothing, and are complaining about it. Sorry, I don't, and won't get it.

Yeah, but they only "fixed" it after they tried to cover it up. What it boils down to is you should get what you paid for, not something else.

Just because every other vehicle manufacturer does it does not make it right.

No the first fix was the drop in liner, not the spray in.

What is scary is that when they do things like this you have to wonder if its the only thing they have covered. It leaves the book open to do it elsewhere.
I have a spot on the left bottom of my bed behind the door thats missing clearcoat. It should have been seen and corrected. I thought robots did the painting these days. Shouldn't be any mistakes.

Their quality control is obviously not the best. On my new Sport I found when I was replacing headlights that one of the tabs holding the bumper facia to the body was sitting on top of the piece instead of locked into the receiving clip. Also, my rear bumper has plastic film protecting the leading edge of the bumper on just the driver's side and nothing on the passenger side. Quality is not job 1. These are not Lexus vehicles.

that plastic film is shipping protector, the dealer should've removed it. Robots do the painting. But they are still machines, and machines still fail every so often, they clog, overspray and such.

I peeled that plastic off that does not belong there, you think they would put that cheese flimsy piece of saran wrap. I was at the dealership and the salesman saw it on the drivers side hanging and I question if it should be there, he said not they come with it all over the place to protect paint in shipping. Anyway it was kinda hanging off both sides. If it was supposed to be there I don't need it I put mud flaps that took over the job.

That's not a fix, bottom line.

Mistakes happen, but when they aren't fixed properly THAT'S the issue. This is just flat out the wrong way to do business.

I was talking to a good friend this weekend that works in the paint shop at WTAP in skilled trades, and you wouldn't (well, YOU would) believe the stories he has. This exact situation, covering up bad paint with a liner, is something he's bitched about for years to the powers that be. Whether or not it's fine to some, or some people can be bought off with a liner, isn't relevant. It's the attitude Ram has towards overall quality and "what can we get away with" ....and look where it's gotten them.

Yes your right I would believe them! I guess to me the bed isn't that big of an issue. The liner is the fix. You would rather them fix it with paint. They chose to fix it with a liner, as do the other 2. I hate to brake it to you guys ALL companies have the "what can we get away with" policy. It is what it is...
