Default chrysler cover up!! read this

Ok Here is the scoop on my (free) plastic box liner that showed up in my 2010 ram sport. I didn't order this option and the dealer did not install it once the truck landed on the lot so, I ask to have it removed because i was installing a factory bed rug. When the body shop was taking out the liner we realized why it was installed a the factory it was to cover up the very bad paint work that was done in the box. There were scratches all over and the paint was full of huge bubbles which were already pealing. So now I get a free Line X spray in boxliner. I call Chrysler Canada to complain about the fraud an out and out COVER UP of extremely poor workmanship and this is what they tell me....its a warranty issue and that because i took delivery of the truck that it is my problem. This is my 7th vehicle from dodge in 6 years and what there saying is that it is a problem of the dealership here for taking delivery of this vehicle and not inspecting it properly. I saw the truck before i did the bill of sale and while i was having the sport hood and tonneau cover installed they went to pull the plastic box liner out and that's when they realized why the truck was shipped with the box liner. So basically what Chrysler told me to bad for you and we dont care how many vehicles you purchased but were still not going to do anything. So much for quality control. My Brother works for a Dodge dealer and that is why i buy these trucks so im putting food oh his families table. But the young girl I talked to today at Chrysler basically said to bad for you its not our problem WHAT A CROCK OF CRAP. SO IF YOU THINK YOUR GETTING A FREE BOX LINER MAKE SURE YOU CHECK UNDER IT BEFORE YOU DO THE PAPER WORK OR YOU WILL BE HAVING THIS CONVERSATION WITH THE SAME PEOPLE.

why is it a problem if you got a free line-x liner.....i would have gladly taken a free line-x liner from the dealer for some bad paint work in the bed.....you can still put the bedrug over it.

You are better off I wouldn't complain that bedrug will go over the linex. Besides one of those plastic liner pretty much wear off the paint in a few year or depending on how you use your truck. You actually got something good. I would have loved to put the linex under my bedrug.

The free box liner isn't really the issue here, it is the pi$$ poor workmanship. Our '09 has some big chucks of dirt in the paint in some spots.

Build quality could use some work.....

it's not just chrysler that makes mistakes...humans build and paint vehicles still... we're ALL human i think still.... i've seen fords/honda's toyotas with faulty problems like that too....

but i would take the free spray in liner, and yes they shouldn't have covered up it up with a plastic liner

I am still amazed at how many people complain about the paint on the vehicles. And want Dodge to go back and fix it. Honestly, do you not look at your trucks before buying them? Tossing on a box liner to cover it up is just plain wrong though. It should be noted as bad paint in bed, free box liner. Then it would be up to you, take the liner, or look for good box paint.

I must have got lucky, my truck is blemish free.... One of the nicest paint jobs I have seen on a stock vehicle, same with my wifes 2008 Caravan. No orange peel, no dirt, very nice paint.

I would not doubt the dealer was paid to paint that bed when it gets to the dealership. One of those days where they have so many paint problems they "ship to maintain"

I sure hope this is not the case. I just got a '10 sport a couple weeks ago and it too came with the plastic liner and was nowhere on the window sticker. All salesman said well guess it is a gift to you from chrysler, sure I say. Well the window sticker also said my truck came with the 3.21 rear axle. Anyway a week later when I got my step tubes in and I was under my truck installing them I was looking at the rear axle part label and it said 3.55. Has anyone seen this? Should I print black sheeps post and bring my truck back to my dealer and have them remove the liner to check for paint defects like mentioned above?
