Default Go Recon Scanning LED Tailgate bar DEAD

Hey guys

I have a Go Recon Extreme Tailgate LED Bar, and recently it just stopped working. I'm reaching out to anyone that might have any ideas....I dont remember when it died, could have been after a trip to dealer for any Updates to PCM. I have since, Checked replaced the inline fuse, checked some of the Trailer fuses on truck, checked ground, checked with multimeter and can verify 12volts to the OEM trailer harness connectors in bumper, checked verified fluctuating 12vilts when left/right turn signal is engaged, checked any settings in EIV display....

Im out of ideas..

It just died...

Anyone have any more ideas, or know if something else may be causing this..

i live this light bar, but it just stopped.

As always, thanks

i had issues when my trailer was hooked up to my light bar .. same as yours . it was attributed to a poor ground .. altho mine worked . just had a mind of its own ..

online many folks say no to bother with these light bars .. but like you . i LOVE mine .. really sets the back of the truck off ..

try some other light on the harness, if it works then your light bar is toast, just replace it, good luck

They are junk. I've had mine for a year and about all the LED's are burnt out. I was very disappointed with it.

Default Progress

So, I went in several different directions and here is what i came up with.

I had another spare Xtreme scanning LED bar i used as a test case. The parking, power, turn signals both wires are all fine. The one i found to be an issue was the ground. The place i took it just used a simple ground/screw. But its since rusted as its "UNDER THE TRUCK" so the true positive ground is no longer working.

So, I tested both bars, the one on there is dead, the one im testing with works, but had a flaw with it (Small piece of rtv silicone inside) no deal breaker, but will work for now.

Some advice.

if you have a led tailgate bar, hooked up with your parking lights, turn off the option on your ram to flash the light with door locks. I think the constant flipping my have led to the failure of the bar,,,,

Alternatively, just keep away from the childish aftermarket degrades.

a led light bar is not a childish upgrade. I consider it a safety item that is much easier to see in rain storms and intense fog.

if you dont like someones modifications... dont click on the link that is the subject of that mod

yea if that "childish" upgrade gets a inattentive drivers attention and saves me from an accident then guess it is not so "childish" plus those bars are at most cars eye level and even more chance of being noticed then even the 3rd brake light and also is more noticeable, i mean even he obviously noticed them to call them "childish"

If the flipping on of the lights is causing a failure in the LED's, then the thing was junk to begin with.

What does the manufacturer have to say about your problem?
